Ito Shizuka Kisses Sendai Eri in Public?

About a week ago, I read on 2channel that Ito Shizuka had apparently ‘kissed’ Sendai Eri ‘on the lips’ on stage at a Dassuki. event in Shinjuku. And I was like.. yeah, sure. And Mizuki Nana’s the queen of England. Evidence? None, except the reports of people who went to the event.

But yesterday there was some sort of ‘verification’ via Eri’s blog post about the event:

….

Translation:
Anyway, Shizuka-san is sexy.
And cute.
A long time ago during Gokujo Seitokai recordings, I met Shizuka-san for the first time and…
“Eri-chan, I…like (suki) you”
Was what she said to me, and I didn’t know how to react
I’m sorry that I said “(It’s) hard (for me) to (get) involved (with you)” [sweat mark]
But, I was glad I got closer to you at the live event this time♪♪ Let’s go and have another drink sometime!
Shizuka-san’s kiss was…soft!!!!

That’s Shizuka on the left and Eri on the right, with two weirdos at the back.

…Shizuka-sama, stop using your evil yuriyuri witchcraft on all the girls in the seiyuu world *sob* I don’t feel like updating my yuri chart *sob*

Sendai apparently said ‘But I like you too!’ at the event when Shizuka-san pointed out her prior rejection… who then rejoiced by saying ‘Woot! Another conquest!’

Anyway, some other fan reports also noted that Ogata Megumi (Ikari Shinji in Evangelion) joked about the whole thing in her talk session during the event – “I didn’t get a kiss in public, but I stole Ito Shizuka’s lips the day before yesterday”. Yeah, I’m sure Ogata’s husband will be thrilled by that revelation.

Misc: Some Details on Mizuki Nana’s New Single + Kannagi Radio is Funny

Mizuki Nana’s new single
According to Nana’s official site, the Rosario + Vampire Capu 2 opening theme will be called… DISCOTHEQUE. Er… it only conjures up memories of the U2 song with the same name for me. Not quite sure that I like it that much, but then I thought COSMIC LOVE was a cool title but the song ended up sucking.

Anyway, single’s out on 1st October, more details copied + pasted from site below:

KICM-1251
Price:¥1,200(tax in)

01 アニメロミックスTV-CF曲 (Animelomix TV-CF song)
02 「ロザリオとバンパイアCAPU2」OP曲『DISCOTHEQUE』
03 「ロザリオとバンパイアCAPU2」ED曲 (untitled)

Kannagi Radio
The second episode’s up on the website! Thankfully director Yamakan and scriptwriter Kurata-san are pushed into some dark cupboard somewhere most of the time and we get something a bit more normal.

Tomatsu Haruka and Hanazawa Kana play hosts this time around – they’re already overly familiar with each other so we don’t get all that umm..ing and aah..ing that we tend to hear in other anime radio shows. Instead we get a lot of silly chat about goma dofu, about whether it’s possible to survive a whole day just eating one piece of bread, rotten avocados and all sorts of other random things. Oh, and Tomatsu did make fun of herself for her useless role in the radio’s first episode – “My role was as the laughing assistant, ie the one who just sat there and went fufufu“.

Some snippets from the show:
Tomatsu: If I’m a dragon….then Kana-chan, you’re a…
Hanazawa: I’m a….?
Tomatsu: A cloud!!
Hanazawa: WTF???
The intelligence of teenagers these days…

Tomatsu: Yeah, so before we begin we’ve got a special letter here from…Kurata-san. Ah, Kurata-san.
Hanazawa: What’s that look of disgust on your face?
Tomatsu: Er yeah, he’s the scriptwriter for the anime…so I’ll read it. Ahem. Ah, a nayami soudan (悩み相談 – problem discussion).
Hanazawa: Mmm.
Tomatsu: (Reads) “One of my director friends – no matter what he does, he always gets fired halfway through a job. Can you please relate any tips and tricks on how to do something until the very end?”
Hanazawa: (Snort, stifled laughter)
Tomatsu: How the hell do you expect us to comment about that??
-So this is becoming a running joke now, Yamakan (Yamamoto Yutaka) being fired from Lucky Star. And he seems intent on making as much noise about the whole thing as he possibly can. I don’t know how much of a joke it was, but later on in the episode he ‘apologised’ for his conduct ‘up to this point’ and made a ‘passionate plea’ to all those involved to ‘Let me back into XXXXX (censored)!’ I suppose XXXXX is referring to the next season of Suzumiya Haruhi.

Kannagi radio – god knows when it updates, but it’s been a fun ride so far. I hope they keep Hanazawa on, I can’t keep up with Yamakan’s thick Kansai accent >_>

Preview of Kitamura Eri’s ‘Debut’ Single「REALIZE」

Played on ChoRaji last night. Hey, it’s not polka after all! It’s pop-rock, which not a lot of seiyuu are doing except uh…Hirano Aya >_> who’s rubbish at it I swore I’d stop insulting her. Anyway, I’ve already got my copy of REALIZE on pre-order, so after listening to the sample above – I demand you go buy it @ Amazon or CDJapan. Oh, and the c/w song for REALIZE is called BE NAKED by the way.

An Updated Guide to StepMania

I am somewhat amused to see that the mini-guide to Stepmania I did ages ago is still among one of my top read posts. And somewhat aghast too, cos it’s completely out of date – so I wrote an updated one to replace it.

News Shorts – New Mizuki Nana single, Ohmi Tomoe quits RAMS

Mizuki Nana new single coming in October

To be released 1st October, the single will include Rosario + Vampire Capu 2 OP/ED themes and an Animelomix CM song. It was announced at the BLUE SIDE of her LIVE FIGHTER series of concerts last night (5th July), not BLUR SIDE as mentioned in this Sponichi news piece. No mention of exact attendance, but the report reckons there’ll be a total of 24,000 people attending over the two days. 23 songs were performed on the first night, including Astrogation, Orchestral Fantasia and Bring It On!.

Ohmi Tomoe leaves RAMS agency

After Saito Momoko’s departure last month, Ohmi is the next one to go. Ohmi was never really prominent in terms of voice work, with supporting roles in Hanoka, RAY and Sketchbook her only real credits. She’s more well known as a singer and for her association with Okui Masami, who wrote & produced the bulk of her material. With Saito gone, it’s safe to assume that RAMS’ idol group Clover is dead. Is RAMS headed for a slow and painful death? Nogawa Sakura was their only real success, and at the rate things are going she’ll be the only one left pretty soon.

Tomatsu Haruka on Anispa

OK now I’m confused as to what Tomatsu’s debut single will actually be called since all the online shops list it as Hoshi Hiroi but naissance is being promoted as the lead song. There was a longer version played on Anispa, and I’m warming up to it more now. Incidentally, Tomatsu’s appearance was delayed on the show until after 10pm because the baseball dragged on too long, pushing its programming into haywire mode. Up until this year, Tomatsu was apparently not allowed to feature on late-night live radio shows and even recently on Mucom her appearance was pushed to an earlier slot so she could get home earlier xD Anyway, listeners seemed to be interested in what sort of guy gets Tomatsu’s attention so if you prefer staying indoors, wear a blazer in school with a necktie, have short hair and like getting hit with a harisen, then you’re her kind of man. As long as you call her Haruka-chan and not Haruka-san.

Weekly News Shorts

A few notes and updates – I’ve been rather busy at work these few days and have been getting back into playing Stepmania at nights to unwind before going to bed at the early hour of 11pm. As a result, I’ve still not watched any of the new summer anime or dorama yet, sadly. Anyway, moving on…

The Splendour of the kure-nai Soundtrack

I liked kure-nai. Liked, not loved. There were many flaws with the show – I regret that it was only 12 episodes long which meant lack of development for side characters like Ginko and Yuno, there were more plot holes than a piece of Swiss cheese and it had a final episode that bordered on the ridiculous.

Thankfully I never read the novels and I really don’t care if they screwed up the adaptation since I was only in it (watching the anime) to be entertained, and entertained I certainly was. kure-nai provided me with 23 of the most enjoyable minutes of my life (episode 6), Murasaki remains one of the few anime characters under the age of 10 that I find tolerable (and loveable), and the music was fantastic too. Indeed, the soundtrack was something I was much looking forward to, even more so than I was for the Macross F OST.
