Hikaru no Go

Inoue Marina’s not the only person with a cosplay history – Shindo Kei (真堂圭), formerly Saito Kei (齋藤圭 and later 斉藤圭), was also a cosplayer in her teenage years using the pseudonym Hisato (央登). Here’s an unexpected and happy piece of news (for me anyway). Inoue Marina and Nazuka Kaori have been confirmed as the latest to join the yuri lovefest that is Maria-sama ga miteru! The pair have been cast as the Naito sisters, with Marina taking on Shoko i.e. the one with the hots for Tsutako and Nazuka voicing elder sister Katsumi, who had some sort of rivalry with Rosa Foetida IIRC. The casting was revealed in the first episode of the revived Marimite radio show, hosted once again by Yumi.. I mean Ueda Kana.

In fact we already get to hear what Shoko & Katsumi might sound like in the anime as they featured in the drama segment. I’m actually quite surprised that Nazuka’s been cast in the ‘older sister’ role – she always struck me as the imouto type. I don’t think either role is that big anyway – in fact that drama bit alone probably contained more lines for the two of them than they’ll actually get in the anime (if they appear at all) ^^;

Anyway, the only thing that’s registering in my brain now is Sato Rina (Tsutako) X Inoue Marina (Shoko). Rina X Marina. Negi (Rina) X Kotaro (Marina). Negi X Kotaro… I just watched Ala Alba the other day >_<

Edit: OK, so Animate.tv have now put up an interview with the drama cast (as seen above), so now I know that it was Shindo Kei (Atsuko) and Takagaki Ayahi (Miyuki)’s voices that were so generic I had no idea who they were. I wonder why. Perhaps it’s because most seiyuu posses buttocks that rather resemble the household item pictured below:

And on another positive note, Nana’s partner in crime Fukuen Misato has returned to Smile Gang! I’m pretty sure she had some sort of vocal cord strain or laryngitis or some similar ailment now. This week’s episode had Suara on as a guest, and Nana had to tell Misato not to scream or she’d screw up her throat again.

Strangely, while I reported a few weeks back that Misato had pulled out of Ga-Rei-Zero-, she was recently announced as part of the cast for Yozakura Quartet, voicing Yarisakura Hime. Is that a sign that Ga-Rei is perhaps a bit…uh, shit? Anyways, nice to see her back in action but I hope she doesn’t overdo things again. It makes me wonder how people like Kobayashi Yu can scream like nobody’s business and not mess up their voices…

I feel I have been somewhat neglectful in my duties of promoting my favourite seiyuu (idols) so I’ll start picking up on their news one by one, starting with the youngest of the lot – Heisei-period born Tomatsu Haruka.
