Anyone expecting a post about that anime series called ef or something can go away now. This is just me, seeking an answer for something that’s been bugging me for the better part of the last four years.
There have been long-standing rumours, but it’s never been confirmed whether Orikasa Fumiko is really the voice behind the Koi Kaze opening theme of the same name (which is credited to the cryptically named éf). If you listen to the song twenty-thousand times I’m sure you’ll begin to hear the similarities in ‘their’ singing voices. Is it one and the same voice? Somebody tell me I’m not imagining it. Or maybe someone else knows more than I do – is it really her?
You can listen to various Orikasa songs on Youtube: Oto no Hana, Hoshi no Hate and Boku no Rhythm. Although she wasn’t actually involved with the Koi Kaze anime in terms of voice acting, it’s not actually surprising if Orikasa is éf – Geneon Ent. produced the anime and Orikasa’s music career is also handled by Geneon.
Koi Kaze is dearest to me for being the final Okazaki Ritsuko-penned song heard in an anime before her untimely death in 2004 (there were others released posthumously) ;_; I have no idea why I’m listening to Okazaki songs on a Sunday afternoon, it’s making me depressed.
As a side note, I’ve been giving some thought to who my next seiyuu profile should be about since LaGelure brought the subject up – I didn’t realise that it’s been 6 long months since the last one >_< I am however, on the verge of admitting defeat to the notion of writing one for Sawashiro Miyuki since I’ve not collected enough decent material (God, she’s a really boring person ain’t she) – maybe I’ll give her another 12 months. I used to want to do one for Fumiko too but ran into the same problem as Miyuki, so it’s on the backburner for now. Ueda Kana is still on my list, as are Kobayashi Sanae, Saiga Mitsuki, Koyasu Takehito & various others but I’m always open to suggestions.
