Guessing the Shangri-la Seiyuu

Um yeah, I guess I’m really about two weeks late with this one, but I only just got round to watching the first episode myself. If you too have caught the GONZO anime Shangri-la you might’ve noticed that the two okama (Momoko & Miko) don’t have credited seiyuu – in the ending sequence they have heartmarks next to their names. That’s because prior to its airing, BIGLOBE and Newtype Channel had announced a ‘Guess the Seiyuu Quiz’ which has currently been running for over a week (Momoko on BIGLOBE, Miko on NT), and closes on 19th April. You need to register on either site before you can enter, so it’s probably not worth the effort, since all you get for your troubles is some mobile stuff and voice messages. Anyway, anyone watching the show – I think it’s pretty obvious who the two are if you’re at all familiar with male seiyuu voices.

Momoko (green hair): Nakata Jouji (Alucard etc)
Miko (fat): Ohtsuka Houchu (Jiraiya in Naruto)

Amusing that ANN already has them listed despite neither being 100% confirmed yet. Ah, the accuracy of the encyclopedia… reminds me why I stopped bothering to edit/moderate it since I can’t keep up with other people’s idiocy.

PS. Jouji makes a hot tranny

Massacring an already massacred Chihara Minori song

My attempt at killing off an already hideous self-penned, self-composed song about a colourful frying pan by Chihara Minori:

Go get Adobe Flash Player!

Please excuse:
1.the fact that I recorded this when I had just woken up.
2.the fact that I can’t sing
3.the terrible guitar playing, I haven’t touched my acoustic for like, a year.
4.the fact that I couldn’t remember the lyrics or chords, I was singing off a piece of paper
5.the failed attempts at trying to stifle my laughter
6.the fact that ‘post-production’ was involved but it still turned out shit (download original versh @ http://www.mediafire.com/?umdd3yytzec)

Inspired by K-ON! (though I couldn’t bring myself to sing the K-ON songs…). No video ‘cos I seriously looked like a hobo at the time. This is dedicated to danie~ and townberry, my Minoritards-in-arms. Now where are my erojiji songs?

Oh, and Happy Easter, y’all!

Radio Shows Scribblings #8

This post has actually been in draft for close to a month now so I thought I’d just knock it out of the backlog while I prep for a fresh bunch of posts – there should be a bumper radio shows update sometime within the next fortnight as soon as I catch up with all the backlogged SoraKake.

I am officially awsm.

As if it wasn’t enough to get pounded by tons of work and goodness knows what other ‘this sucks the life outta me’ type of woes, I have to go and injure myself in a most spectacular fashion.

ie I tried to be a smartass, attempting to jump across a drain, landing on a massive rock the other side and promptly sprained my left foot (though of course, it only started hurting an hour after that). OK 1,2,3 – you can laugh.

So yeah today I am taking the first ever sick leave in my working life so far (1 year, 3 months) and I still gotta meet the deadline for my reports while my foot is bandaged up like the Michelin Man.

Oh, and in the picture the red thingy there is my umbrella which is doubling as a walking stick at the moment cos I can’t take a single step without feeling that my foot is gonna detach itself from the leg.

SomebodyAny random cute girls please kiss the pain away?

So uh…. it’s an anime convention of sorts. I can’t tell you what it’s gonna be like as I’ve never attended one before, the only conventions I’ve ever been to all involved politicians, smart suits and plenty of smoked salmon. Something tells me that DaiCon won’t be anything close to that, and probably involves infinitely more fun stuff like karaoke, cosplay and figurine exhibitions – who knows, we might get handed complimentary radishes too.

Pssstt. There might be a seiyuu coming. Guesses currently range from Shiraishi Minoru to Hirano Aya to Chihara Minori. Pick your poison! I’m personally hoping for somebody like Kaneda Tomoko.

…at the very least you’ll be able to meet me in person, if I haven’t already fainted from fangirl hysteria or something. It’ll be relatively easy to spot me, I’ll be the one running around like a headless chicken wondering which direction the toilet is in (again, if I haven’t already fainted from fangirl hysteria). Give me a wave (or a paper bag) if you see me running by.

Updates to come when they come.
