Dear Diary,
So sorry I have neglected thee for all of 12 days (of Christmas, my true love gave to me…). I have not had anything to drink, therefore this entry will be coherent. But completely off-topic…
Made in China
It was Mid-Autumn festival yesterday. I celebrated by eating 牛肉[の]生姜焼き(beef sautéed with ginger) at a local Japanese restaurant. I hate mooncakes… I was desperately looking for some Pop Pop Snappers (above, a kind of kiddy firework that goes pop when you throw it on the floor) but I wasn’t successful.
Tomorrow is ‘Malaysia Day’ – the only reason I’m happy is because it’s a public holiday here! The local political scene is such a shambles, I’m thinking of migrating to Vanuatu to plant coconut trees.
I attended a wedding function on Saturday night and there was a free flow of alcohol so some of my colleagues went and snagged some Chivas, which none of us had had before… I think one guy got it spot on when he described it as ‘cockroach water’. I thought it was more like watered-down Dettol actually. Still, it’s better than gin, which looks, smells and tastes like lighter fluid.
Apparently, I am sexist/feminist. YES, YES, YES, I hate men and you should all cut off your ****s with a breadknife. Did you not see me burning bras on TV back in the 60s? I love getting flamed… and so do others, it seems. But I don’t get enough of them, I probably need to write more retarded posts saying that Shugo Chara is shit and Sasuke is gay or something.

Spot the real Oreo
The cream bit in Oreo cookies tastes like wallpaper paste, I’ve never understood why anybody liked them. They must be popular though, to spawn a half-dozen rip-offs. I’m bombarded by them everytime I walk down a [Giant] supermarket aisle. Can’t they at least think of more original names instead of _____O?
Nabatame Hitomi is Arima Nana? *smashes own face with a baseball bat* I think Naba (who also voices Eriko-sama) only wanted the role so that she could put a stop to Ito Shizuka’s philandering at recording sessions (and to further expand her harem). Anyway, Marimite 4 will air starting January ‘09 (guess that it will probably be just the 1-cour then), and Kanako’s parents will be voiced by Koyama Rikiya & Kawasumi Ayako. The pic on the left above is from the recent Lillian Festival event.

Gawds, I know I should’ve gotten around to watching Detroit Metal City earlier. It’s just the most ridiculously stupid show I’ve had the privilege of viewing over the last 12 months or so. And I love me some twee Japanese pop, so I was totally into Tetrapod Melon Tea. Their name is hilariously (intentional?) similar to all those silly neo Shibuya-kei band names like Orangenoise Shortcut, tetrapletrap, Swinging Popsicle, Luminous Orange, Corniche Camomile and all the rest.
The dreaded words
I am almost certainly doomed to failure in JLPT2 this year. I know no grammar rules. I know no kanji. That’s not good. Hence, I will be posting even less in the next three months in a bid to save myself from complete embarassment come March 2009. Maybe I should’ve played the DS DQ when it was released in Japanese instead of waiting for the English version, which is now threatening to wipe out what little study time I have left.

You missed out the part that Minorin is going to do her 2nd tour, starting next feb, and it will head for china and taiwan too. Was watching the live nico broadcast on saturday.
I didn’t see that in the local Kinokuniya but I grabbed the last copy of Seiyu Grand Prix on the shelf. There’s poster of Minori, Yukari and Nana in this month’s issue XD. Not forgetting a report of Nana’s Live Fighter Red/Blue side.
Hmm. Try playing some visual novels? I heard they’re good for improving japanese.

Pop pops, those nostalgic stuff we played when we were children? Still remember my cousins keep on try to pop them right in my face, and me doing the same thing back. And there’s always those stupid moments when you pop them using your bare fingers… Last time I got my hands on one packet was a few years back.
Wonder if nowadays children still play them… or they spend their time smsing instead.

I never knew Sabah had public holidays for Malaysia Day. Us Sarawakians don’t have such a thing. Maybe because we already have tonnes of public holidays for other occasions. Happy Malaysia Day btw! Hopefully happy peaceful government transition day as well…

The best hope for regular seiyuu scans is the fan community at Livejournal, but it probably only applies if you like male seiyuu. Chinese forums maybe?
