Aa, Domo. Ohisashiburi desu.

Er, hello again. I’ve been MIA for a while, thanks to two days of non-stop wedding shenanigans followed by two days of non-stop business function action which has left me a little knackered. I haven’t read my email or my feed reader for days and stuff is piling up like crazy -_-;; Back to the grind now…

-No, the picture above has nothing to do with the post. I’m just feeling a little funny at the moment…

-I’ve been watching as much gymnastics as I can fit into my schedule but I’m not going to bore you with the details this time ;) All I have to say is – yay Yang Wei, Liukin & Johnson!

-In case you haven’t noticed (which you wouldn’t if you were seeing this from a feed reader), I’ve changed the theme. It’s something I’d been putting off for a few months now, but now that moyism’s done it, I just had to! Plus, I was bored of tilting my head to the left everytime… Still fiddling around with various options and header images, so if something’s broken…well, it’s broken ;) I’m sure I’ll get around to fixing it eventually… and I might even change back to the old theme if I get fed up, heh. I’m fickle like that…

-I like the name Trinity Cross for a song (makes me think of Nanoha for some reason), but I’m slightly disappointed that Nana isn’t writing the lyrics for it or DISCOTHEQUE.

-’Tis a good time to be a Tomatsu Haruka fan, methinks. Kannagi, Kemeko DX, Yozakura Quarter, Asu no Yoichi… people are gonna start hating her cos she’s in everything, hohoho. She’s also singing the opening theme for Kannagi, which might or might not be called Hoshi Hiroi…might it be the c/w song for her naissance single? But seriously… Tomacchan should go join Momusu or some other idol group. Her cuteness is overwhelming sometimes ;_; Isn’t there an opening in AKB48 now that Ayarin’s been kicked out ^^;;

-I’m going to do a preview for the autumn season in hopes that it’ll motivate me to watch more anime.

-Kyoto Animation are in charge of Tonari no Yaoi-chan. At least it’s a Kodansha property, so we probably won’t be getting shitty Haruhi and Konata cameos, phew.

-And oh yes, the post title is a reference to the GReeeeN album title. The album’s grown on me a lot…

-I promise my next post will not be under the ‘misc’ category.

I think Haruka Tomatsu is adorable so is all good :o

New blog look is pretty good.

  • I’m still trying to figure out how the first photo came about but *thumbs up* on the new layout. Feels weird being able to read everything in the middle after months of getting used to your old layout. And LOL for being part of the reason you decided to switch? August must be a strange month for bloggers to change their layouts as I count at least 5 of us doing so (mukyaa, super rats, you, me, and danny choo off the top of my head).

  • Coolie new blog haha…
So bored, you didn’t update for a while hehe…
Who’s lip was that at the header?

  • I think the theme is too plain. Well, that’s me.

2channel and Japanese BBSes are the places to look for pics. Er, if it makes you happy, my next post will be all about Tomatsu Haruka ^^

I like Haruka, but I dread it when people refer to her as ‘The next Hirano Aya’ I hope she doesn’t veer off into gravure… she needs to lose all her baby fat first XD

    >moyism
The first photo was just completey random, lol.

    >Z-Houseki
There are actually two sets of ‘lips’ pictures, which one are you referring to? It’d be simple enough if you looked at the images’ filenames…maybe I should give out a prize for anyone who can correctly identify all the people in my header pictures, heh. Not all of them are seiyuu though.

Plain was the point actually. I dislike clutter (too many widgets/ads etc) and jarring colours, so this minimalistic layout was perfect for me. Clean and readable is the most important thing! That, and this theme has fewer bugs than the last one did…

xDD That’ll be GREAT!! But you dun have to if ur buried with too much work.. =] OK..! I vow that I’m gonna continue with japanese classes after my BIIIG exam this year, so I dun have to rely on anyone to tell me about Haruka, or anything Kyouran..!! xD
One more thing, I was wondering: do all japanese people draw that well? Like, during some of the radio shows, they got some people to draw, and they all turned out pretty well done. Aahhh… this leaves me worried, whether there would be strong competition if I were to apply for a designer job there… #_#

@extratax: I would rather let j1m0ne give you a more detailed, analytical answer, but here’s the short version: Mizuki Nana, Sawashiro Miyuki, Takahashi Chiaki and Kobayashi Yu can truly ‘get into it’ when they speak into the microphone, definitely CANNOT ‘warm it up’ when their pens hit the paper.

Wow… two Big Daddy Kane puns in one paragraph. ^_^ Speaking of which, when I first read the name of Nana’s new “DISCOTHEQUE” B-side, the opening lyrics to “Set It Off” immediately popped back into my brain:

“Let it roll, get bold, I just can’t hold
Back, or fold, ’cause I’m a man with soul
In control and effect, so what the heck
Rock the discotheques, and this groove is what’s next…”

Still amazing 20 years later. I know most of you probably don’t care for hip-hop, though, but Kane is one of the best emcees that I’ve ever listened to.

It is a real shame, though, that Nana isn’t writing the lyrics to either song. I’ve always considered her one of J-pop’s most skilled, capable and talented lyricists. She uses metaphors in quite a clever manner, and also makes extremely interesting cultural/historical references. Not to mention her versatility (hardcore records, love tracks, dance floor grooves, etc.)…

On one last note, I am glad to see Tomatsu Haruka getting more time in the spotlight nowadays. It’s unbelievably annoying, though, that people are comparing Hirano Aya with her. Aya’s definitely getting better with age, and developing a better matured/refined sound and technique, but I personally consider Haruka to be much more talented when it comes to straight-up acting (but not so much singing).
