History
I only really got into anime around 2002, after a bout of boredom living in an English boarding school without an internet connection. The only source of entertainment was my brother’s anime collection, so I got handed stuff like Card Captor Sakura, Hanaukyo Maids and Onegai Teacher - and you know the rest.

I honestly cannot remember how I ended up a seiyuu-ota, I think my interest just gradually built up over the years. I’m sure Iwao Junko, Mitsuishi Kotono and Hisakawa Aya played a big part in it though.

Personal
My Japanese isn’t fantastically brilliant (I have JLPT3) but it’s good enough to read manga, watch raws & listen to radio shows. My native language is Hakka, but I’m also pretty fluent in English, Cantonese & Malay and competent in Mandarin.

I have a degree in Economics & Finance from the University of Southampton, and am currently employed at a bank in a research capacity.

Preferences
Favourite genres include slice-of-life, sci-fi, shonen and comedy. Stuff I prefer not to watch - mecha, dating sim conversions and angsty love stories. You can read about my current top 10 favourite anime here.

I like both female and male seiyuu equally. Top 10 favourites here and here.

I Like Games
I’m also an avid gamer, having previously owned an Atari, various Game & Watches (including Octopus), a Mega Drive, GBC, PS, PS2, GBA and currently, a DS Lite. Mostly play RPGs and RTSes. All-time fave games - Revenge of Shinobi (MD), Golden Sun series (GBA), Civilization 2 & the Monkey Island series (both PC).

Random Stuff
-I’m an encyclopedia staff member at Anime News Network, though I’m not very active in the forums or other parts of the site. Mainly stick to filling up the database with cast and staff entries and dealing with hundreds of error reports.
-I used to be an automoderator (yes, those fools who used to deal with the addled moderation system) at Audioscrobbler, which has now merged with Last.fm. I’m also an ‘inactive’ auto editor at one of its associated sites, music database and tagger Musicbrainz.
-I’ve supported Leeds United AFC for 15 years and counting.
-I’m an Anglican Christian.

Hi there,

Stumbled upon your blog few days ago, kinda impressed with the contents and quite surprised to know that you are from Malaysia since I’m from there as well, although I’m on the peninsular side.

Basically just wanna say hello, not often for me to randomly found a fellow Malaysian blog site. I’ll be visiting once in a while for your updates. Cheers.

p/s: Still following Leeds United?, currently they are doing ‘ quite not so well’ under McAllister after Wise left them for Newcastle. They are still pushing for promotions though, even after the points penalty.
