The producers dispensed with the games this time, and made it a “Letter Reading Week” instead. Yeap, all they did was read mails sent in by listeners. Now that might sound boring to you, but trust the producers to come up with all sorts of crazy schemes and like episode 2 of the anime, the show desecended into absolute chaos pretty quickly.
関東図書基地 広報課 (Kantō Toshokichi Kōhōka), the radio show for Toshokan Senso officially started on the 10th of April, following the confusing format of - Girls one week, followed by the boys, then the girls and so on. I initially thought that the two shows were going to run simultaneously, but I was wrong. I also thought that I was going to enjoy the girls’ show more than the boys’ (because of the seiyuu), but I was also wrong. The guys’ show turned out to be an absolute riot, and Sawashiro Miyuki needs to talk louder or else I’ll be falling asleep :/
So the new season’s finally kicked off, and I’ve checked out a few shows but nothing’s truly set my world on fire as yet. Chi’s Sweet Home is the best anime this season, hands down. But that’s not what I’m here to talk about anyway. The anime radio shows are starting their run too, which means oodles of fun for me as as I yawn my way through hours of seiyuu rambling and talking about a lot of boring things so it’s my job to separate the wheat from the chaff. Kicking things off this week are the two Kyoran Kazoku Nikki radio shows.
Listen to Minakike this week!

Plenty of highlights, including the fact that Rinyan and Minorin (also on guitar) sang the stupid birthday song for Marina that they also sang for Minori last time. But wait! The biggest highlight for me has got to be the fact that the birthday message I sent in for Marina was read (cue hysterical laughter). More on that later.

For the past 6 months, I’ve been listening to Moetan Listening Radio; which has been a fantastic ride despite the overall suckiness of the anime itself. I’ve laughed a lot, heard plenty of bad Engrish and topped up my otaku knowledge in the process. A bit sad that it’s over, but it was best that they ended it before it got too stale.
