Mizuki Nana 18th Single 「Trickster」

So there we have it, the ‘official’ title for Nana’s 18th single (released 1st October 2008). Trickster. Trickster… XD No, I can’t quite imagine what it’ll sound like. I keep thinking of Tricky and Artful Dodger (the garage group) when I see that title.

Tracklist:
1. Trickster
Lyrics: Mizuki Nana
Composition & Arrangement: Agematsu Noriyasu (Elements Garden)

2. DISCOTHEQUE
Lyrics: Sonoda Ryoji
Composition & Arrangement: Agematsu Noriyasu (Elements Garden)

3. Trinity Cross
Lyrics & Composition: Shikura Chiyomaru
Arrangement: Fujima Hitoshi (Elements Garden)

She’s already shot the PV for one of them… I don’t know which one though.

And on another positive note, Nana’s partner in crime Fukuen Misato has returned to Smile Gang! I’m pretty sure she had some sort of vocal cord strain or laryngitis or some similar ailment now. This week’s episode had Suara on as a guest, and Nana had to tell Misato not to scream or she’d screw up her throat again.

Strangely, while I reported a few weeks back that Misato had pulled out of Ga-Rei-Zero-, she was recently announced as part of the cast for Yozakura Quartet, voicing Yarisakura Hime. Is that a sign that Ga-Rei is perhaps a bit…uh, shit? Anyways, nice to see her back in action but I hope she doesn’t overdo things again. It makes me wonder how people like Kobayashi Yu can scream like nobody’s business and not mess up their voices…

Misc: Some Details on Mizuki Nana’s New Single + Kannagi Radio is Funny

Mizuki Nana’s new single
According to Nana’s official site, the Rosario + Vampire Capu 2 opening theme will be called… DISCOTHEQUE. Er… it only conjures up memories of the U2 song with the same name for me. Not quite sure that I like it that much, but then I thought COSMIC LOVE was a cool title but the song ended up sucking.

Anyway, single’s out on 1st October, more details copied + pasted from site below:

KICM-1251
Price:¥1,200(tax in)

01 アニメロミックスTV-CF曲 (Animelomix TV-CF song)
02 「ロザリオとバンパイアCAPU2」OP曲『DISCOTHEQUE』
03 「ロザリオとバンパイアCAPU2」ED曲 (untitled)

Kannagi Radio
The second episode’s up on the website! Thankfully director Yamakan and scriptwriter Kurata-san are pushed into some dark cupboard somewhere most of the time and we get something a bit more normal.

Tomatsu Haruka and Hanazawa Kana play hosts this time around – they’re already overly familiar with each other so we don’t get all that umm..ing and aah..ing that we tend to hear in other anime radio shows. Instead we get a lot of silly chat about goma dofu, about whether it’s possible to survive a whole day just eating one piece of bread, rotten avocados and all sorts of other random things. Oh, and Tomatsu did make fun of herself for her useless role in the radio’s first episode – “My role was as the laughing assistant, ie the one who just sat there and went fufufu“.

Some snippets from the show:
Tomatsu: If I’m a dragon….then Kana-chan, you’re a…
Hanazawa: I’m a….?
Tomatsu: A cloud!!
Hanazawa: WTF???
The intelligence of teenagers these days…

Tomatsu: Yeah, so before we begin we’ve got a special letter here from…Kurata-san. Ah, Kurata-san.
Hanazawa: What’s that look of disgust on your face?
Tomatsu: Er yeah, he’s the scriptwriter for the anime…so I’ll read it. Ahem. Ah, a nayami soudan (悩み相談 – problem discussion).
Hanazawa: Mmm.
Tomatsu: (Reads) “One of my director friends – no matter what he does, he always gets fired halfway through a job. Can you please relate any tips and tricks on how to do something until the very end?”
Hanazawa: (Snort, stifled laughter)
Tomatsu: How the hell do you expect us to comment about that??
-So this is becoming a running joke now, Yamakan (Yamamoto Yutaka) being fired from Lucky Star. And he seems intent on making as much noise about the whole thing as he possibly can. I don’t know how much of a joke it was, but later on in the episode he ‘apologised’ for his conduct ‘up to this point’ and made a ‘passionate plea’ to all those involved to ‘Let me back into XXXXX (censored)!’ I suppose XXXXX is referring to the next season of Suzumiya Haruhi.

Kannagi radio – god knows when it updates, but it’s been a fun ride so far. I hope they keep Hanazawa on, I can’t keep up with Yamakan’s thick Kansai accent >_>

Unholy Internet Rumour #800121: Mizuki Nana is All RabuRabu with…

The Pointless Ramblings of a Mizuki Nana Fan

Everyone knows I’m a Mizuki Nana fan. At least I hope everyone does… I rarely talk about it on the blog because I don’t want to sound like a drooling, broken record repeating ‘Nana Rules!’ ad nauseum. I tend not to extol her qualities as much as I would Inoue Marina or Kitamura Eri because there is already a massive Nana following on the internet – no need to preach to a group of people who have by and large already converted to Nana-worshipping, no?

Happy Birthday (Insert Name of Seiyuu)!

Because I’m lazy, to save time and to extend the length of this post – I’ll get all the birthday wishes out in go, it’s the proverbial ‘killing four birds with one stone’ thing.

Happy Belated Birthday Makino Yui!
-Oh well, a day late (19th January is the date). She’s 22 this year.

That’s Makimaki (as Asano Masumi christened her) with the Gyao jockey staff members.

Happy Birthday to Inoue Marina!
-Just 1 and a half more hours of the big day left, 20th January. Marina’s 23 this year.

Happy Birthday to Mizuki Nana!
-Just 1 and a half more hours to the big day, 21st January. Nana’s 28 this year.

A cake from an advance surprise birthday party thrown for Nana by staff members.

Happy Birthday in Advance to Paku Romi!
-Oh well, a day early (22nd January is the date). She’s an unbelievable 36 this year.

I realise that my blog is gradually turning into an Inoue Marina shrine. I just found it really odd how the other 3 (Makino, Mizuki and Paku-san) are connected to Marina in some way.

1.Makino Yui is one of Inoue Marina’s best friends in the seiyuu world – they first met on Zegapain.
2.Mizuki Nana is Inoue Marina’s most frequent castmate/collaborator – 6 regular TV anime together (7 if Minami-ke:Okawari is included) + 1 OVA (Tokyo Marble Chocolate). And now Nana is Marina’s senpai at the Sigma Seven seiyuu agency.
3.Paku Romi is currently Inoue Marina’s twin in Suteki Tantei Labyrinth, was in Zegapain with both Marina and Yui, and also in Gakuen Alice- one of Marina’s earlier shows.

But it’s probably just me being overly anal, cos Paku Romi and Mizuki Nana’s history goes way back to Shaman King, and has also included Naruto and Fullmetal Alchemist along the way. A very shonen history ^^;

Oh well, happy birthday to all of them again, though only Inoue Marina will have received notice of my wishes. お誕生日おめでとうございます!♪ 素敵な一年になりますように ♪
