Video of the Day: Hatsune Miku Loves Seiyuu?

17 June, 2008 (22:31) | seiyuu, video | By: j1m0ne

Hahahahahahahah. This fan-made video is way too bloody hilarious. Credits to whoever made & put it up on NND - sure made me grin like an idiot for 5 minutes. It would help if you:

1. know basic Japanese or
2. have been reading my blog for a long time or
3. keep up with all the latest gossip, news and stupid rumours going around in Seiyuu Land
and most importantly,
4. have a sense of humour.

Since it makes fun of anyone and everyone, you know a seiyuu is famous if they’re being made fun of here. The jokes:

-Dekobitch is an unflattering nickname for Hirano Aya (Deko = big forehead, bitch = well… female dog, to be precise)
-Mizuki Nana and Imai Asami’s lack of boobs
-Saito Momoko & Kimura Madoka’s lack of work lately [ハロワ is a temp agency]
-Nakamura Eriko (Idolmaster) cannot sing to save her life
-Yukarin and Hocchan are stinky obasan
-Ueda Kana’s obsession with mahjong
-Koshimizu Ami’s uncomfortable appearance on Waratte Iitomo, and the comparison of (the length of) her face to a horse’s
-Goto Saori is referred to by some as 弱い方の後藤さん (the weaker Goto-san) as opposed to the loud & rude Goto Yuko
-Inoue Marina’s cosplay days (Goenma!! xD)

And this also reminds me that Hidamari Sketch x 365 is coming soon! Sketch Switch is a really fun song…

Edit: And I messed up the post permalink wtf. Oh, whatever.

Video of the Day: Tomatsu Haruka and the Ano-Ano Douga

29 May, 2008 (07:25) | video, 戸松遥 | By: j1m0ne

I downloaded & watched this interview sometime last year, but didn’t think too much beyond ‘Ah, Tomatsu’s got a very long neck’ until somebody posted it up on Nico Nico Douga. And pointed out the number of times she says the word ‘Ano’. You can try counting for yourself how many times Haruka goes ano…ano… >_> It’s ANNOYING. She also has a tendency to repeat other phrases like ’satesate’ and ’sou desu ne’ (not here). Oh, in case you’re wondering, this interview was for her voicing the lead character Fujiwara Moemi in the audio reading of light novel Joushi Daisei Kaikeishi no Jikenbo.

Video of the Day: A Young, Toothless Hanazawa Kana

15 May, 2008 (23:31) | video, 花澤香菜 | By: j1m0ne

Oh well, before I board a plane some 12+ hours from now I’ll leave you with a video from 12 years ago that features a 7-year old Hanazawa Kana. It’s from the TV show Yappari Sanma Daisensei hosted by Akashiya Sanma, one of the most popular comedians in Japan. Anyway, Kana’s the one with the twin pigtails in the pinkish blouse, and she doesn’t actually do much except sit around and look bemused (someone needs to tell her to press her thighs together though), unlike the other kids who try to kiss and clamber all over poor Sanma =D

Video of the Day: Moyashimon Cast Test Out Surströmming

12 May, 2008 (21:57) | video, もやしもん | By: j1m0ne

If you’ve watched Moyashimon, you might recall episode 9 where Itsuki-sensei introduced surströmming (fermented herring), allegedly one of the foulest-smelling foods in the world, to the students. Well apparently the show’s producers thought it’d be great fun to make the seiyuu bring a can of the stuff on a picnic and film their reactions to opening and eating it. The four unfortunate guinea pigs/sacrificial lambs selected for the experiment were Sakaguchi Daisuke (Sawaki), Sugiyama Noriaki (Kawahama), Kanda Akemi (Hazuki) and Ohara Sayaka (Hasegawa). I would’ve loved to have seen Noto Mamiko (Muto) trying it out though ;P

Video of the Day: Shana Cast Go Home

10 May, 2008 (21:48) | seiyuu, video | By: j1m0ne

The Shana seiyuu were and remains till today, one of my favourite casts ever assembled for an anime - it had a good mix of male and female, young and old, yuri and non-yuri etc etc. Anyway, this video, shot during recordings for the last episode of the first season, is a pretty amusing 5-minute clip where you get to see the seiyuu…racing to go home. It was more interesting to see what was going on in the background - you could see various members of the cast chatting away to each other, some drinking juice, others fiddling with their bags and so forth. It must’ve been the dead of winter when they were recording this, look at all those thick coats!

A quick whip through the majority of the cast members to help you better identify them:

Video of the Day: More Ueda Kana & Halo 3

4 May, 2008 (22:15) | video, 植田佳奈 | By: j1m0ne

Another Inside Xbox interview with Ueda Kana, this time focusing on Halo 3. I’m not going to translate it - obviously I’m not into Halo 3 much, and she spends half the time talking about the maps -_- But you do get to see Kana-sama playing the game a little more in the video, including one bit around the 1:14 mark where she’s trying to shoot this guy and someone else helps her out by running him over with a truck, lol.

Anyway, the interview was done about a fortnight ago when Ueda participated in another online session in conjunction with the release of some new maps for Halo 3. Kana said that this time around, there was another Japanese girl who came online to play which surprised her. She also tried to encourage more girls to get online and play (guess she’s drowning in all that testosterone, heh). So if you’ve got an Xbox360 look for Ueda Kana between 11pm-5am Japan time, that’s when she says she’s usually online ;)

Video of the Day: One Piece Seiyuu and the Pandaman

28 April, 2008 (07:22) | video | By: j1m0ne

This ranks among one of the most bizarre seiyuu-related videos I’ve ever seen, featuring the One Piece seiyuu (from left to right: Nakai Kazuya - Zoro, Hirata Hiroaki - Sanji, Yamaguchi Kappei - Usopp, Okamura Akemi - Nami, Tanaka Mayumi - Luffy) and a guy dressed as a panda repeating 喘ぎ声 (Aegigoe) over and over again. Aegigoe means panting, and I hear it’s often used in sexual terms >_>

Weird.

Video of the Day - Wakamoto Norio Singing Karaoke

24 April, 2008 (07:23) | video, 若本規夫 | By: j1m0ne

An oldie but goldie - Wakamoto Norio singing Oh My Darling Clementine…in English. It’s actually pretty good, mind you.

This was from an episode of Bansen Bucho, which runs on AT-X. Some of the other guests included Toriumi Kosuke, Fukui Yukari, Shimizu Ai, Kusao Takeshi and Shintani Ryoko.
