Kyou no 5 no 2 TV Seiyuu Cast - Changes All Around
Wholesale changes to the TV series cast as expected, what with XEBEC taking over the production.

Changes (Role: OVA Seiyuu → TV Seiyuu)
Sato Ryota: Kuwashima Houko → Kobayashi Yu
Koizumi Chika: Kadowaki Maii → Shimoda Asami
Kawai Tsubasa: Chihara Minori → Takagaki Ayahi
Imai Koji: Asakawa Yu → Yamato Megumi
Asano Yuki: Takahashi Mikako → Akesaka Satomi
Aihara Kazumi: Noto Mamiko → MAKO
Hirakawa Natsumi: Yamamoto Maria → Asumi Kana
Hidaka Megumi: Ueda Kana → Honda Yoko
Too bad for Mamiko, Minorin and Ueda Kana fans who were looking forward to this - no more Noto-sama biting pencils to bits! On the other hand, we may get some decent singing this time around if they make the exact same three characters sing the theme songs (it was Mikako, Maita and Mamiko last time around).
But really, all I’m excited about is ASAAAAPPPOOOONNNNNN! iDOLM@ASTER fans must be excited… or maybe not, depending on whether collarbone humour appeals to you. I featured her a while back in my 23 Seiyuu Under 23 feature and now she’s gotten a major anime role at long last. I’m an avid ‘reader’ of her blog (OK, I just look at the images) and I hope that this is the first of many anime roles for her.
And someone tell me who on earth Yamato Megumi (山戸 恵) is.

+1 for ASAAAAPPPOOOONNNNNN!
She is a great seiyuu in an almost classical sense - she has an amazing range of really distinctive 70s cartoon character voices compared with some of the recent “normal” like speaking voices. Funny how trends goes in circles.

Noooo Kana Ueda! Mamiko Noto! ;_;
Yay Kana Asumi!

There are some big losses there (Kuwashima Houko, Ueda Kana, Takahashi Mikako) but there is one enormous gain: Takagaki Ayahi. In True Tears and Da Capo II SS, she showed herself to be near the top of the profession, for me. Now, whether she can do this kind of comedy remains to be seen.

Oh, bleh. No more Mamiko, Kana, Minorin, or even Houko anymore? The OVA cast was pretty damn good for the series. It won’t be the same at all. :/
Ayahi Takagaki and Kana Asumi are fine pickups, but it’ll still be like a different show now. Though, Asami Shimoda, haha.

Takagaki doing comedy doesn’t worry me as much as Takagaki voicing a teenage boy…
And I think the replacements are adequate even if they aren’t household names. The most surprising one for me is MAKO (Yurie in Kamichu!), I didn’t think she’d be sticking at this seiyuu lark for very long.

MAMI!!! MINORIN!!! KANA!!! HOUKO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*COMMITS SUICIDE*
@ j1m0ne: LOL I can’t see Takagaki doing a boy either… I will always see her as a little girl w/ a fascination for flying chickens. Still, it’s something to look forward to.
Yay for Gorilla Yu.

Yay for having Kobayashi Yu this time around…
Buu for not having Asakawa Yu, Ueda Kana and Noto Mamiko
Extreme buu buu for not having Minorin T_T
Sigh. A complete change….but I think I will still watch it for the lulz
