Ikezawa Haruna attracts creepy stalker, sends angry warning message on website

Ikezawa Haruna, who voices Yoshino in Marimite and Momoka in Keroro Gunsou, took the unusual step of publicly issuing a warning for a guy (who’s been harassing her on the internet for some time) after being informed of more rubbish being written about her on 2channel.

The rage-filled message on her site is TL;DR but basically mentions that she has reported said stalker to the police and goes on to describe some of the weird stuff the guy has done, such as him claiming that he is in a relationship with Haruna, with a love message addressed to him by Haruna as proof (apparently, it was actually an ‘official’ item auctioned off by her agency Oscar Promotion for charity 5-6 years ago). Mr. Stalker also says that he can read the hidden messages written especially for him in her blog posts (deluded fool), and has also purportedly posted a bunch of odd messages on 2channel such as ‘Love. Destiny. Fated bonds. This ain’t a joke lol. The coincidental meetings number way too much… I’ll talk about that later’.

Ikezawa seems really pissed off by the guy, rambling on and on about how she wants to cut ties with the stalker. She relates that he keeps sending her insanely long, ridiculous emails (which she doesn’t bother to reply to) and mentions that a phrase that he often repeats ‘Haruna is crying because of love’ probably refers to a previous incident where an unknown man jumped out and virtually attacked her in the middle of the street at night, making her cry. Ikezawa says that she isn’t crying because of love, she’s crying because she’s scared to death.

Um yeah, otaku stalkers are freaky. Ikezawa doesn’t seem to be taking this lying down, which is a good thing I guess… wonder which other seiyuu might be suffering from similar stalker-ish activity?

And as usual, when weird otaku do weird stuff to seiyuu, it appears in the mainstream press:

Tisk tisk. Wonder if that unknown man was the stalker?

Unfortunately I’d imagine a lot of the better-known seiyuu get dirty emails and letters. God help whoever does this to Minorin!

  • So did the unknown man got arrested?
And if the letter was auctioned off, can police track the person who has it? There’s only one letter anyway.

Poor Haruna, I always think she’s one of the prettiest (and brightest) in the seiyuu world.

  • Poor Haruna… I guess things like these happen a lot to the better-looking seiyuu. I agree with Andrew, God help anyone who dares stalk Minorin, or Mizuki Nana, or Tanaka Rie… or any of the more popular seiyuu. Legions of loyal otaku fans (and hopefully the police) will prounce on crazy otaku stalkers XD

  • While I don’t blame her for being upset, I don’t think she should’ve made this whole incident public. I’m pretty sure any celebrity, A-list to C-list, have their fair share of creepy fans that they’ve got to deal with. If he threatened to injure/rape/kill her that would be another story, but this just seems like a publicity stunt.

If the 2channer is the unknown guy, it’s time to start invetigating though. But making this incident known to the whole wide world won’t stop the crazy anyways.

  • Right now, unlike big-name celebrities, most popular seiyuu on a meager budget can’t afford security detail or bodyguards (unless one’s probably a superstar idol-seiyuu with a big contract) so the most popular ones will have to learn self-defense, how to call for help and understand the business of dodging potential stalkers and personal security procedures (including the technique of erasing EXIF data off their cellphone snapshots before posting their blogs).

One of these days, the identity of Haruna’s stalker might be unraveled at 2ch and could get the taste of his own medicine by angry fans with kendo sticks and bokken.

A-List Seiyuus seems to have it bad though. But really, one wonders about all these Stalker-Otas.

Are they really so damned hard up for love or what? I mean, look at it this way, they’ve got the moola to purchase multiple identical DVDs for a ticket for a poster, autograph or a handshake session (damn those buggers! I’m always in Japan at the wrong time when there’s no Seiyuu activity to boot!), they can use part of it to goto Shibuya or Shinjuku to get their balls off.
