Kobayashi Yu features on cover of weapons mag

Having already been pictured with a pistol for her own Lovin’ Yu photobook, Kobayashi repeats the trick for Arms Magazine. The caption should read ‘THE SNIPER 2: SHOOT THE GORILLA’.

Kato Emiri is a communist?
So featuring in a communist-leaning newspaper is a sign of Kato’s political leanings? I find it amusing, I’m pretty sure it couldn’t have escaped her management or agency (81produce)’s attention that an interview with such publications might paint her in such negative light. Maybe they thought Akahata was a yuri manga anthology or something… though, to be honest, nobody outside of 2channel probably gives a flying frock about whether Kato Emiri’s a communist or socialist or exorcist.

Sakaguchi Daisuke + Hirohashi Ryo spotted in crowd at football match

This is one of the more bizarre seiyuu ‘coincidents’ yet. A TV highlights show on an Albirex Niigata VS Yokohama Marinos match briefly panned to the crowd (around the 1:32 mark) and some eagle-eyed seiyuu fan spotted two people very much resembling Sakaguchi Daisuke + Hirohashi Ryo in the crowd. Sakaguchi himself has mentioned previously that he’s a big fan of Niigata, but whether Hirohashi is into football at all…who knows. As a note, the two seiyuu are signed to the same agency (Aoni Production) and Sakaguchi is married (but not to Hirohashi).

Toyoguchi Megumi’s blog logs 100k hits in two months
Having just started blogging on the 1st of June, Megu’s Megublog has already chalked up a 100,000 hits as of 30 July 2008. As I briefly mentioned before, I’m one of her devoted readers but it makes me wonder how well-read seiyuu blogs are. Megu’s posts generally get less than 10 comments while people like Minorin & Nana get more than 100 comments and Ito Shizuka’s even newer blog has hit the 30 mark in recent days.

1. Nabatame Hitomi X Ito Shizuka

===Naba’s post talked about how the two of them happened to take the train together due to work, and that picture was the view of Shizuka waving Naba off when she got to her station. Naba’s words - ‘On seeing Shizuka…Mmm. Love!＼(≧▽≦)丿 This is one of those times when I feel that I love Shizuka-san! (*´▽｀*) Are you jealous (▼∀▼) bwahaha. My wife is truly a good woman (*′・`)ノ~☆
===Shizuka’s was waffling about some foodstuff that her ‘husband’ Naba had bought her from Osaka.

Obviously they fail at corroborating their stories - Naba says they were going ‘to work’ while Shizuka says she ‘went to Naba’s house’, so God knows what ‘work’ they were doing at Naba’s house. But Shizuka also gave some loving to Koyama Kimiko (above) and received some more from Shimoda Asami (below) so Naba needs to work harder.

2. Tamura Yukari X Mizuki Nana

“Rather than dating (male staff member) Mishima-san, (it is preferred that) I get married to (Mizuki) Nana-chan”. Tamura Yukari

Taken out of context, it sounds like one of those crazy off-the-cuff yuri statements, but knowing Yukarin - it’s just her shooting her mouth off yet again. This particular comment came after a letter from a listener on her radio show babbling something like how certain otaku would rather have their fave male character ‘get it on with another male character than get close to a girl’.

To which Yukarin reasoned that she could understand because ‘Instead of Hikaru GENJI’s Hiro-kun dating someone (other than me), I would rather he date Akkun’. Which is probably a statement lost on non-Johnny’s fans and anybody under the age of 20. [Note: Hikaru GENJI was a late-80s/early-90s J-Boyband that Yukarin is enamoured with, particularly Sato 'Hiro-kun' Hiroyuki. Akkun refers to fellow member Akasaka Akira, who was famously arrested for drug possession sometime in 2007].

Since that example was greeted with bemusement and disbelief, Yukarin tried it from a different angle, hence the Nana comment. She ended up with silence & strange looks from her staff who seemed as if ‘their necks had been twisted’. They all agreed that they’d rather Yukarin marry Nana than Mishima though. Incidentally, Yukarin also used Takky (Takizawa Hideaki) and Imai Tsubasa as an example as well as Ono-D (Ono Daisuke) & Kamiya(Hiroshi)-kun.

….And oi, what happened to Hocchan??

Random Stuff that I Had no Idea Where to Stick
- Kitamura Eri’s REALIZE managed to sell more than a 1,000 copies in its first week after all. Thank god for the 4-5 people on 2channel who bought 10-15 copies each then? Anyway, she has loads of events going on in August so if you’re a KitaEri fan & happen to be a girl do go along cos she’s promised to give the females a kiss. The male of the species could try dressing up in meido outfits I suppose…
-The more I listen to the song, the more I think May’n is really singing Oppai Meister instead of What’bout my star? Sorry, Sheryl fa..what am I saying, I’m a total Sheryl fan myself anyhow.
-Oh shi…KitaEri!!! Stop making my yuri chart even more out of date!!!! *bursts in anger* Er yes well, KitaEri went for a 1-on-1 date [lunch & a train ride] with the Noto of Mamiko-sama and snagged her contact details in the process. Eri’s half-hearted “I’m not a stalker” denial convinces nobody, I’m sure. Oh, and they’ll be meeting more now that KitaEri’s joined the Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu cast (temporarily?) as Sawamura. So what would you give for KitaEri’s little black book of phone numbers? Actually I’m sort of glad about this whole KitaEri X Mamiko thing - gives me an excuse to fill in that missing gap on the yuri chart I had…
