Kannagi Cast Interviews
A brief look at some of the Kannagi cast & staff interview specials out recently.
Kannagi Special on Anime-TV
This was shown on last week’s Anime-TV, and my god. It’s one of the worst interviews (visual wise) with Tomatsu I’ve seen yet - her stylist needs to be shot. She literally looks like she just got out of bed…
…look at the static in her hair.
Cameraman needs a clip around the ear too. I CAN SEE THE REFLECTION OF HER EYELASHES FFS.
Oh yes. The interview was dull, and talked mostly about Nagi and her new single’s PV. I’ve also noticed that Tomatsu hasn’t ditched her terrible ‘Ano ano’ speech pattern, and annoyingly she’s picked up another equally grating habit of ending her sentences with ‘desu keredo mo’ =_=
ComicREX Special Cast & Staff Interview
I’d seen some screenshots of this & was waiting for someone to up the full video
It’s basically short, concise interviews with the four major seiyuu cast members, the director and the scriptwriter.
Naturally, Tomatsu Haruka as Nagi was up first:
Q: Which parts of Nagi do you see in yourself, and how do you feel voicing Nagi?
A: Like Nagi, I always tell jokes that nobody but myself laughs at. I could totally relate to those situations when they appeared in the manga.
-LMAO. I think Nagi/Tomatsu’s had some of the best lines so far this year; the cat/milk/boobs one, the noodle one, baka unko, planet boobs etc.
-Oh god D: The ‘Ano ano’ pattern is back in full force here, especially during the ‘How did you feel when you found out that you had gotten the role of Nagi’ question.
-Tomatsu thinks that eating Umaibo on bread is not a bad idea D: (see episode 4 for why they asked her this). But this is coming from someone who thinks Genghis Khan caramels are OK so…
Shimono Hiro as Jin
-I’m fond of Hiro because of RahXephon & Kaleido Star, but he’s not done much in recent years that I’d particularly liked so Jin is a pretty refreshing reminder for me of what he can do.
-His questions were pretty dull, straight topics (character talk, basically) except for the ‘Do you put sauce on your rice’ question. And he does put aurore sauce (an equal mix of mayonnaise & ketchup) on his rice D:
-The part Shimono most wants viewers to notice about Kannagi: what is going on on the TV in the background.
Sawashiro Miyuki as Tsugumi
-Sawashiro describes Tsugumi as a cute character she’s not really done before, and doesn’t think she has much similarities to her
-Like Tsugumi, Sawashiro doesn’t really possess much in way of cooking skills - “I can only cook for myself… and er, only vegetable soup. Can’t bake cookies or cakes or make chocolate!”
Hanazawa Kana as Zange-chan
-Hanazawa is like, on drugs as usual. She giggles too easily =_= and she talks weird =_=
-Kana thought Zange-chan was a good role because she hasn’t really voiced an ‘antagonist’ before.
-She says that Shimono Hiro is easily bullied by the rest of the cast
-She also claims that director Yamakan is ドS (sadist)
And, speeding through the staff interviews…
Director Yamamoto Yutaka
-At least he’s not talking in his thick Kansai accent as much here…
-Nagi & Jin are his fave characters
-He had general praise all round for the seiyuu
-He talks too much
Scripwriter Kurata Hideyuki
-This is the first time I’ve seen Kurata in the flesh, he looks like he hasn’t slept for weeks
-His fave character used to be Tsugumi but switched to favouring male characters like Daitetsu & Akiba once he started writing for Kannagi
-He says middle-schooler Jin is a potentially good moe character
motto☆Hade ni ne! is officially released tomorrow but we all know where to get it. My copy’s in the post… somewhere. I’ve already spoiled myself by watching the PV anyway. Amusingly, Amazon Japan have already run out of copies so I guess it’s definitely going to sell more than naissance’s measly 1,000+ total ![]()

Even I, who didn’t finished watching School Days knows his character is very well known…hehe.(probably fit your different type criteria^^) He was hated so much by alot of people.^^; It’s almost like this, Shimono = Makoto…hehe.
I got my copy of the single today but haven’t open it since it’s pointless…because…I didn’t bring the optical drive deck for my notebook with me…^^;(I use a Toshiba Libretto U100) Do you guys wanna see the picture of my ticket?;) That’s silly…hehe. Tried that Kurama sandwich yesterday. Got the nattou&coffee jelly and Yoyogi dango. Seriously, the nattou+coffe jelly is actually really good with cream. http://www.kuramasand.jp/suzuka/archives/2006/10/post_42.html
By the way Anime Center radio is way better than last year.(have to admit I don’t really listen to it reguglarly or ever…^^;) Somehow I always go before they’d have a guest the next time…^^; Last year was Narita Ken and this time is Fukui Yukari. Miyumiyu is being make fun of alot and who the person Kakihara kinda wants to go after or what? After the recording they had a the off-air session as usual. One of the letter talked about how to adapt to cat even if having allergy. So he went on and on how he have to make himself immune to it for his future gf or something.^^; Miyumiyu mentioned about….her bladder(about having short Urethra.) and tell everyone not to write about it on the net.^^; Oh yeah there was also some talk about how Kakihara would probably be a good host at the host club. Some high school girl(who was there) actually wrote “Oh no, what if Kakihara rides a white horse to pick me up?!”…His reaction was like “No way, you know how sticky they are?”…^^;

I’m really curious to find out how well motto☆Hade ni ne! can sell, since I can’t evaluate Kannagi’s popularity at all atm. I know I’ll be constantly having a look at the Oricon daily charts, hoping to find Tomatsu Haruka in the top 20 - I’d guess that Kannagi is at least popular enough to ensure a spot in there, but what do I know… it feels harder to tell than, say, with the Toradora singles where you can more or less count on the Kugyuu & Hocchan factors. D:
Ah, by the way, regarding the PV - I couldn’t help but think that the producers are well aware of the power of Tomatsu Haruka’s legs, lol. That’s one detail I wouldn’t even have paid attention to, usually… I blame this blog!

How well did Villana Salt do? Seems to me everywhere is either this or that and Pre Parade blasting in Akiba…hehe.(I don’t mind at all though…^^;) Still haven’t prepare a bit for Sunday night. At least few short sentences… Should I bother getting a card put with the stuff? I’m so lazy though…

That first Tomatsu interview looks like it was shot under searchlights, lol. I love Miyukichi’s awful new hairstyle. The hide behind my fringe effect. Seems to work, somehow. But she does look like an angry fifteen year old. Determined not to be cute. I think Kannagi is going to be da bomb. It’s forging ahead on 2channel. I think the OP will be in the top ten on Oricon, but we’ll see in a while.

I LOLed when I heard Nagi say “baka unko”. It’s the first time (I think) I’ve actually heard someone call someone else a stupid piece of… in Japanese. Sawashiro Miyuki… that poor poor girl… when will she ever find a hairstyle that actually works for her?
P.S. Does anyone else think that Kurata Hideyuki looks like a slightly bloated Sugita? XD

ROFL I just watched the interview before reading your post. Indeed Tomacchan wasn’t at her best. I could resist my urge to watch the PV thou. Patiently waiting for the package..
on the Oricon chart, maybe it’s a bit hard to see? Since they split the song sales into 3 CD? @__@
@D: ..I finished School Days and didn’t hear any Shimono Hiro. That Itou unko Makoto was voiced by Hirakawa Daisuke (which gave me a hard time to watch Itazura na Kiss properly for the first few episodes).

@D
Yeah, I dunno where you think Hiro was in School Days. Anyway I’m just saying he hasn’t been in anything I’ve liked, since the ef series bores me & Airantou was baka unko (I’ll make that my catchphrase now)
Vanilla Salt was No.7 with sales of 13,099 while Pre-Parade was No.17 with sales of 8,796. Solid all around! Incidentally, Pre-Parade sold more in its first week than Hirano Aya’s Namidax3 has sold up to now =_=
@katapan
Eh, the Kugyuu factor doesn’t really make any difference to CD sales I don’t think. Toradora! is quite popular with otaku so the sales reflect that. I think Kannagi should get in around the top 20 too, it’s pretty hard to predict… but I don’t think motto hade ni ne will outsell Maaya. Well, I hope not anyway…
@danie~
CD sales are consolidated, which is why Johnny’s & their trillion different limited editions always end up at No.1, stupid fangirls. Kanjani8 will be No.1 next week too =_=

Sorry, guys.>_< I got it mixed up. Being up at 2 am and slight cold-ish isn’t a good condition to post. I packed too little this time and it’s colder than last time here…(or at least this room. Feels like there’s a hole somewhere letting the cold air in…^^;) Guess I’ll go grab myself a bottle of Lulu at one of those drug store. Wouldn’t want to let this keep up…^^;

coolie…get to read some interesting interviews lol
u should update stuff like this ne…
October 29th, 2008 at 5:05 pm
GOSH at the first 3 pics… She really must have not slept for weeks looking like that.. Don’t overwork yourself Haruka-chan!!! x((
Ahh… I noticed that ppl(or rather their hairstyle) look nicer when the fringe is parted, revealing the forehead, at 1/3, to the left or right, the length of the fringe horizontally…

My bad, I forgot that the Zero no Tsukaima ending singles didn’t really sell that well. Kugyuu’s more of a way to attract people to watch the series, maybe.
I wasn’t expecting motto hade ni ne to outsell Maaya either, but I was really wondering if it could beat PSI-missing. And I have my answer - Haruka Tomatsu enters the daily charts at #12, Kawada Mami at #13. Interesting, I thought the latter would get into the top ten easily since JOINT sold pretty damn well. I suppose Shana’s popularity hasn’t completely carried on to Toaru Majutsu no Index, despite J.C. Staff’s effort to make the two receive the same treatment.
On another note, I’ll be sulking in a corner if MilkyWay ends up outselling Maaya…
