Misc: Some Details on Mizuki Nana’s New Single + Kannagi Radio is Funny

Mizuki Nana’s new single
According to Nana’s official site, the Rosario + Vampire Capu 2 opening theme will be called… DISCOTHEQUE. Er… it only conjures up memories of the U2 song with the same name for me. Not quite sure that I like it that much, but then I thought COSMIC LOVE was a cool title but the song ended up sucking.

Anyway, single’s out on 1st October, more details copied + pasted from site below:

KICM-1251
Price:¥1,200(tax in)

01 アニメロミックスTV-CF曲 (Animelomix TV-CF song)
02 「ロザリオとバンパイアCAPU2」OP曲『DISCOTHEQUE』
03 「ロザリオとバンパイアCAPU2」ED曲 (untitled)

Kannagi Radio
The second episode’s up on the website! Thankfully director Yamakan and scriptwriter Kurata-san are pushed into some dark cupboard somewhere most of the time and we get something a bit more normal.

Tomatsu Haruka and Hanazawa Kana play hosts this time around - they’re already overly familiar with each other so we don’t get all that umm..ing and aah..ing that we tend to hear in other anime radio shows. Instead we get a lot of silly chat about goma dofu, about whether it’s possible to survive a whole day just eating one piece of bread, rotten avocados and all sorts of other random things. Oh, and Tomatsu did make fun of herself for her useless role in the radio’s first episode - “My role was as the laughing assistant, ie the one who just sat there and went fufufu“.

Some snippets from the show:
Tomatsu: If I’m a dragon….then Kana-chan, you’re a…
Hanazawa: I’m a….?
Tomatsu: A cloud!!
Hanazawa: WTF???
The intelligence of teenagers these days…

Tomatsu: Yeah, so before we begin we’ve got a special letter here from…Kurata-san. Ah, Kurata-san.
Hanazawa: What’s that look of disgust on your face?
Tomatsu: Er yeah, he’s the scriptwriter for the anime…so I’ll read it. Ahem. Ah, a nayami soudan (悩み相談 - problem discussion).
Hanazawa: Mmm.
Tomatsu: (Reads) “One of my director friends - no matter what he does, he always gets fired halfway through a job. Can you please relate any tips and tricks on how to do something until the very end?”
Hanazawa: (Snort, stifled laughter)
Tomatsu: How the hell do you expect us to comment about that??
-So this is becoming a running joke now, Yamakan (Yamamoto Yutaka) being fired from Lucky Star. And he seems intent on making as much noise about the whole thing as he possibly can. I don’t know how much of a joke it was, but later on in the episode he ‘apologised’ for his conduct ‘up to this point’ and made a ‘passionate plea’ to all those involved to ‘Let me back into XXXXX (censored)!’ I suppose XXXXX is referring to the next season of Suzumiya Haruhi.

Kannagi radio - god knows when it updates, but it’s been a fun ride so far. I hope they keep Hanazawa on, I can’t keep up with Yamakan’s thick Kansai accent >_>

Oh, Yamakan, Yamakan. “Mad, bad, and dangerous to know.” The cream always rises.

Kannagi radio is hilarious! I totally wrote it off after the first episode…good thing u brought it up :D Now I’m craving goma tofu and genghis khan caramel even though the latter sounds manky XD

It would be nice if u made a “radio” post highlighting all the new and good web radio shows each season - u seem to be able to find all the “hidden” sites that I can never find…

    Keep up the good work!

Disco…what?? Seriously, is she running for some “Weirdest Song Title of the year” award or something? Lol. But meh whatever. I hope the song is more like either Astrogation or Dancing in the Velvet Moon than Cosmic Love. The first time I heard Cosmic Love, it gave me headache…seriously. Maybe it’s because of the screwed up recordings in the Starcamp EP cd…but that experience is enough to let me stay away from Cosmic Love. So Nana-chan is singing the OP and EP again for Rosario +Vampire eh…that show is really a her show…might as well call it Nana + Vampire XD.

why the hell they still keep Yamakan? ^^; but Tomatsu and Hanazawa.. the seiyuu world is shifting to the young and cute huh?

@ town: Cosmic Love is better than Dancing in the velvet moon in terms of bad compression.. but both gave me head pain. That’s why I started loving the song since Live Formula (I swear it’s not the costume).

I wonder if Nana (or her agency) hired a bodyguard or two (considering that death threat a few weeks ago)?

I hope it sounds like Astrogation, love that song.

    >Z-Houseki
    Er, Tomatsu Haruka’s a seiyuu…

    >Jigga
That Genghis Khan caramel thing sounds dreadful really - imagine, meat + onions in a caramel sweet >_>

    >danie
    Fresh meat is more delicious.

    >soul.assasin
That death threat was fairly ridiculous but I’m pretty sure Nana has her own minders ^_^
