I’ve been giving a bunch of radio shows a go over the past week, and jotted down a couple of notes for each as I was listening. Maybe I’ll start covering them more regularly if I do it this way…

Tsunpiri Radio 1

-completely directionless, which is to be expected of the first episode of a radio show where the only directive given to Saito Chiwa & Kuwatani Natsuko was ‘freedom’ to say & do whatever they liked
-so they spent the entire time talking crap & pondering the future direction of the show, introducing the corners etc
-but they do get free food since the show is sponsored by Yamayoshi, makers of the Wasabeef crisps
-Saito Chiwa doesn’t really like wasabi
-I spaced out for 95% of the show (not good)

Shiokaze Hosokyoku 33
-Ito Shizuka, who says the producers deliberately put her seat as far away from Tanaka Rie as possible eventhough she had asked to be sat next to her
-Rie says she loses calories everytime she voices Ageha because of all the shouting
-Shizuka says that at ’some other show’s recording’ (why do I get the feeling it’s Hayate no Gotoku) everyone is aiming for Tanaka Rie
-Rie is not fond of people assaulting her boobs from behind xD
-Shizuka says she has not ‘harassed’ Rie that much (I only touched your butt) but promises to do so more often in the future
-Rie likes death metal lmao
-Rie used her Suigintou ‘I’ll turn you into junk’ line!

Kemeko Maniax! 3

-maybe I’m stupid or something but I seem to be unable to download the episodes =_=
-Tomatsu Haruka & Geneon producer Kawase guested this time
-Kitamura Eri made Tomatsu say ‘Aishiteru yo’ to her (“because [I know] you love me!”)
-Tomatsu has a lot of cute voices in her arsenal; she’s never really done the little girl voice for any anime but she did it a couple of times here
-Kawase made them say a lot of stupid lines (Papa, daisuki! etc) & had the staff vote for who did them cuter
-All the staff voted for Tomatsu so KitaEri will get her punishment during the Akiba Kemeko DX event

Kannagi 5
-Tomatsu Haruka wears contact lenses (one had a crack in it but she was still wearing it anyway)
-mangaka Takenashi Eri turns up for every recording session & also goes for meals with the staff & cast
-Kannagi drama CDs are coming
-a listener says he had a friend who stuffed two bags of marshmallows into his mouth in one go. Tomatsu says she once tried to eat 5 crackers within a minute but failed
-Hanazawa Kana says Tomatsu likes talking to herself, she once stumbled upon her at a studio audition declaring ‘Ah, so this is where the toilet is!’ in front of the toilet door

Ga-Rei Radio 2
-Shiraishi Minoru is yaoi type (he thinks Iwahata is hawt D:)
-Mizuhara Kaoru is yuri type (to Minorin — “I’ve always been watching you”)
-the female seiyuu on the show ask scriptwriter Takayama Katsuhiko (a guy) for dieting tips

-lol. Minorin mentioned those silly frog-with-leaves ornaments (above) she bought a couple of months ago and how everytime there was an earthquake the frogs would fall off her shelf… causing one of the frog’s arms to break off. So Minoru & Kaorun suggested she like er… pad the area with cotton to break their fall? And urged her to fix the broken part.
-Ga-Rei Zero’s airtime was delayed by one month because they hadn’t completed the episodes in time. When Shiraishi asked if the rest of the anime would be finished ‘on time’ he was greeted with silence xD Expect unfinished frames & shoddy animation!
-Shiraishi asked about the budget for 1-cour & 2-cour anime, & Ito said that Ga-Rei’s is running into the hundreds of millions of yen & somehow the seiyuu seemed rather surprised at that

Note: There is an interview with Mizuhara Kaoru & Chihara Minori on the official site. I was thinking of translating it but once I read the first question – “What do you think of the original work?” I gave up

Love CoMu Autumn Special
The show that Tanaka Rie regularly appears on. Last week they had a bunch of other seiyuu on to read sad love stories from listeners, which would normally be incredibly boring if not for the fact that I like hearing seiyuu screw up on live radio Tamura Yukari IIRC struggled with the word 温かった (atatakatta), she had to give it three goes before she got it right last time she was on.

This time they got Kobayashi Yu in for the first time, along with semi-regulars Tomatsu Haruka, Kitamura Eri & Horie Yui. I think announcer Yoshida Hisanori was somewhat traumatised by Kobayashi’s weirdness (and art). I think Yu’s great as long as you give her exactly what she’s meant to say on a piece of paper, but once you let her loose… the results aren’t usually pretty.

Because the theme was ‘breaking up’, they gave away four large ‘kerchiefs (to wipe away the tears, lol) to listeners, adorned with the seiyuu’s autographs. Horie & Tomatsu were boring and signed all of them the same way, but KitaEri & Yu put in some effort with 4 different illustrations.

…Hyakko radio is starting, with Fujiwara Keiji(!) as the main personality. Episode 1 airs on 5th November & features guest Orikasa Fumiko.

My last few attempts at consistently blogging one radio show all ended up being binned (Moetan, Kyoran Kazoku Nikki etc) because I sort of lost interest halfway, so I have no idea if I’ll pursue coverage of these, or any other radio shows, regularly (is there even a demand for it). 95% of them are bloody boring anyhow.

At the moment I’m quite keen on Ga-Rei radio because I’m actively following the anime, and I’ll probably write about anything funny that turns up on my regular listens (Kuro Usagi, Smile Gang & Marunage) periodically. If only to prevent this from becoming ‘j1m0ne’s Seiyuu Body Part Picture Blog’….
