I guess I have decided to make the radio coverage as close to a weekly thing as I possibly can. I’ll also try to feature a range of different shows, there’s loads that people might be interested in but aren’t aware of.

Just in case you wonder where I find the time to listen to so many different shows – I tend to download a whole bunch of stuff and polish them off while I work in the office (to alleviate boredom). Also that is the reason for the sketchy, informal notes.

Marimite Radio #3

-guest was Nabatame Hitomi
-she talked about the role of Arima Nana a bit
-Kana said everyone was shocked when it was announced that Naba had landed the role
-they laughed about how the yellow rose team was the only one where the seiyuu members didn’t change at all over the course of 4 seasons
-it was amusing that they somewhat struggled to recall the seiyuu who voiced the former Roses – Katsuki Masako, Takayama Minami & ….(silence) MITSUISHI KOTONO da!
-Kana mentions that there is a sort of Rose Reunion at ’some other recording’ where she, Katsuki-san, Shinohara Emi & Kugimiya Rie are present but I’m struggling to think of what production that might be. Anyone got any ideas?
-I think Marimite is one of the few non BL-kei radio shows where the majority of listeners are females
-One of Kana’s fave old anime is Rose of Versailles, they both agree that Creamy Mami & Minky Momo were good. Naba even had Momo’s candy cane wand thing when she was a kid.
-Kana: “Even now, my ideal [2d] man is Kenshiro (from Hokuto no Ken)”
-radio drama part was Kareki ni Mebuki, one of the short stories taken from Volume 30 which focuses more on Katsumi & her ‘relationship’ with Rosa Foetida – good to hear more of Nazuka Kaori & Nabatame Hitomi. It was cute to hear an incredibly flustered Inoue Marina too [when Katsumi teased Shoko about Tsutako] God, Marimite stories always make me incredibly happy yet wanting to sob at the same time ;_;
-they started a new corner called ‘Souer o mezase’ where listeners send in chatup lines to try to persuade Kana-sama to make them her souer – ‘24 hours a day, 365 days a year – I’ll be your video game partner! So make me your souer!’ Apparently these type of lines were the only ones Kana got lmao

radio minorhythm #78
-who turned the yuri hose on Minorin?
-She uses a picture of model Rinka as her mobile phone wallpaper
-She seems to have a thing for Mizuhara Kaoru too hmm. She wants to take pics with Kaorun the way Yomi & Kagura in Ga-Rei do?
-but she is more obssessed with her Tirol chocolates =_= seriously I am bored to tears of hearing her talk about them
-Tirol kotatsu! Minorin wants one, but it won’t fit in her room. moyism, you should make Minorin one while you’re at it.
-I guess Ga-Rei Zero is going to be 1-cour from what Minorin said (that there were few afureko left)

Mikako@Payopayo #380

-guest was Inoue Marina
-they talked a bit about ear piercings –> Mikako got her ears pierced this February though she had them done before in her school days. Marina doesn’t have pierced ears & is thinking of getting them done for her 25th birthday.
-there was also a bit of talk about the Maho Tsukai recordings – apparently Honomi (Marina’s character) was director Kobayashi Osamu’s favourite because of her tsundere tendencies
-the cast went for a drink & played bingo after the last episode’s recording
-for those who watched the anime –> the two talked about the ’surprise’ ending, & Mikako said she didn’t understand it at first
-they seem to have short memories, they barely remember when Nanoha StrikerS aired

Idolmaster Radio #134

-Halloween. Anyone else remember that horrible costume Chiaking wore (above – the one in the middle) last year? Mingos pleaded with her not to wear that this year & suggested wear a snowman suit (to keep warm) but Chiaking refused because she was too ’sexy’ for it lmao
-They were talking about moving houses, and Chiaking suggested to Mingos:
Chiaking: Isn’t it about time you moved.
Mingos: Nandeyanen?
Chiaking: Because if you moved in with me…
Mingos: No bloody way!!
Chiaking: …nothing good would come out of it.
Mingos says that she would only nag at Chiaking to clean up all day long. Chiaking wants to eat Mingos’ cooking.
-LMAO @ Chiaking’s sheep imitation.
-hahaha, some listener suggested that the tokuten for next iM@s game be a 黒ガラス板 ie. a sheet of dark glass that is used in middle school science classes to look at the sun. Both of the seiyuu laughed at this too ^^; Chiaking pondered whether ppl would think that the glass had other uses (x-ray vision?), Mingos suggested that some might think using it would enable them to see through Chiaking’s clothes

Yugen no Manabiya #10

-I’ve never mentioned this show I believe. It’s a radio show hosted by Chiaking to air/promote Konami’s original radio drama aimed at ‘oniichan’ and has guests every episode. The drama cast is full of top names including Yonaga Tsubasa, Fujita Saki, Sawashiro Miyuki, Tomatsu Haruka etc. This episode’s guest was Kobayashi Yu, who sings the radio’s opening theme Black Eyes
-Butaniku bento!
-Chiaking is mean, lol. She kept harping on about Yu’s ‘blond’ personality…
Chiaking: I recognised your face, but I could never remember your name [when I first met you]. I kept thinking – oh, you were so pretty, you had good style etc
Yu: No, no that’s not true. I’m a giant. I’m tall so I kept getting in everybody’s way.
-WTF, oi Kobayashi stop imitating a pig. GJ Chiaking for telling her off ‘You’ve got a pretty face, so where the hell is that sound coming from, stop it!’ LMAO

Ga-Rei Radio #3
-I really do like the chemistry between these three, they do sound like they’re having fun
-all of them have trouble saying their own names apparently. Shiraishi Minoru can become Shiroishi Minoru & Chihara Minori becomes Chahara Minori
-Shiraishi tried making nikujaga (beef + potato stew) but the roux turned out a bit thick like curry & he ate the results for three consecutive days. ‘Nikujaga? where did the jaga (potato) go?’
-while Shiraishi was reading out a mail from a listener asking whether the Nabu brothers’ weird ‘Pappu~~’ lines in the anime were ad-libs by Wakamoto Norio, there was incessant giggling in the background by Minorin lol
-apparently Wakamoto always adds in his own ad-libs so much so that the seiyuu who’s supposed to follow is lost in the script, while the rest of the cast sitting behind struggle to contain their laughter
-lmao. another listener commented that Nabu’s face looks like a baseball
-Takahashi Shinya, the voice of Nori, is another jokester and he once sent Mizuhara Kaoru a picture of himself dressed as Santa Claus on his mobile phone. Minorin laughed and commented ‘What sort of appeal (fetish) is he aiming for?’ lol
-they were discussing the Paradise Lost PV, and when Shiraishi started talking about Minorin’s black boots, Mizuhara interrupted and said ‘Why is the conversation starting from there (her feet)?’ – sort of like telling him off for being a pervert. But Shiraishi did point out that was what the PV first focused on
-also talked about the glove thingies Minorin wore in the PV (indeed, they’re fricking gloves snipped to pieces)
-Oh dear. Minorin asked producer Ito about when he most felt that it was ‘fun’ to be a producer – he said ‘when everything (in an anime production) goes well from start to finish, like when you line up dominos and each falls in succession til the very end’. Minorin then asked what was it like on Ga-Rei now, & Ito answered ‘we set the hurdle too high’ =_= and he kept saying that the production was ‘girigiri’ (cutting it close) and that making an original show was ‘taihen…desu!’ (very…hard!)
-producer Ito’s favourite anime is… Uchuu Senkan Yamato (he apologised because the choice ’shows how old he is’). He also mentioned Gundam & Lodoss OVA (he loves the opening).

Anyone else listen to Wakamoto Norio’s Iyasare Bar radio show? It’s been running for a while now, but some people might want to catch the next episode (up 14th November) cos Mizuki Nana is guesting [note: I dunno if this will go ahead now with the news about her dad]

Sakamoto Maaya ran a few short special radio shows to celebrate the release of Ame ga furu. You can also check out her regular Chizu to Tegami to Koi no Uta show, downloadable as a podcast.

I use this site as my radio and internet show guide – it’s very, very useful indeed.
