Randomly, seiyuu news round-up
I know I haven’t done a news post for a long, long time but that’s only ‘cos absolutely nothing newsworthy had popped up. Stuff has happened over the last couple of weeks or so though, I’m sure most people have read these elsewhere but it’s worth repeating:
1. Yokoyama Chisa fractured her elbow in a scooter accident, someone opened a stationary car door while she was moving in traffic and it hit her and her scooter. She showed off her injuries on her blog (arm in sling, cut on finger). All should be well in 3 weeks apparently, though she’s still working and attending rehearsals regardless.
2. Tange Sakura is returning permanently to anime voice work! Her last regular role was something like 10 years ago…. First up is this autumn’s Kirumin – the sound director is the same as for Love Plus (which she is in) and production is being done by her agency Aoni Production. You have no idea how excited I am about this, I have been rewatching Card Captor Sakura to celebrate. Altogether now, hoe~~~~~
3. Imai Yuka has been signed up by the Atomic Monkey agency, which is somewhat surprising to me – she’s been freelancing for quite some time since she fell ill and had to give up her roles in Demonbane and Futari wa Precure Splash Star. Guess this means Imai’s ready to get back into the full swing of things, I do welcome that as I like her work as Jinto in the Crest of the Stars series. She joins the likes of Sugita Tomokazu, Seki Tomokazu, Nagasawa Miki and Orikasa Fumiko on Atomic Monkey’s expanding list of seiyuu poached from other companies/snapped up on a free.
4. In a follow up to this piece of Ikezawa Haruna + stalker news I posted some time back, unemployed 27-year old Sasaki Jun has been arrested for stalking and defamation.
5. Similarly creepy news. Another unemployed guy, 26-year old Yamazaki Satoshi, has also been arrested – this time for threatening to kill Kadowaki Mai’s parents. It’s one thing to get fake threats like those (Nana, Minorin) last year, but these guys seem seriously off their rockers.
6. Everyone knows the Kaneda Tomoko thing.
Oh well, it is as much an update for me as it is for you, I’m still busily plowing through Professor Layton in between bouts of (watching) tennis and football matches. And work, yes work!

LOL I didn’t know about the Kaneda Tomoko thing XD It was really amusing actually. XD I can totally understand why her voice would cause her to screw up 50 job interviews, or cause problems as an OL. Sucks to be her. XD
Those stalker dudes really need to get a life. I don’t understand how unemployed men have the time to stalk people and manage to feed themselves at the same time =_=

OMG, totally excited by Imai Yuka’s return. Not a big female seiyuu fan, but she was one of the few I respected and appreciated. So much versatility and range in her voice – from pulling off young boy roles to high-pitched females. So happy to hear she’s healthy and ready for work.

Ok, thanks. I guess I’ll probably have to convert as well…^^; It’s just gonna make me even lazier to check them out since I usually check and grab them all at once like once two or three weeks. Another reason I sometimes would miss a week if I got really lazy…hehe
Maybe a good thing though as my ipod is pretty much anime radio only.^^; Need to be more selective. Probably just gonna keep listening SZBH, Natsume Brothers(this one is really funny too I thought. Good thing it’s on Onsen so easier to grab.) and the Canaan radio.(since I like Nanjou Yoshino quite a bit too. Having her with Tomacchan is a dream comes true.^^ The GA one I’m kinda…zzz since for some reason Nazuka turns me off…hehe. Used to “kinda” like her before though…don’t know why.) So much series still haven’t watched either…even Tomacchan’s new ones.^^;
