R.I.P. Kawai Eri

I just read the news that singer-songwriter Kawai Eri passed away on 4th August at 11.40pm after a period of illness T_T

Her wake will be held on 6 August (6-7pm), and the funeral on the following day (12-1pm) at Ceremony Hall Jonen, Kuramae, Taito, Tokyo.

I didn’t even know she was ill T_T This reminds me of the the day when the news broke that Okazaki Ritsuko had passed away… I feel like blubbering right now.

Some of you might recognise her name from her involvement with the ARIA series, being the singing voice of Athena as well as writing the lyrics for Makino Yui’s three opening themes (Undine, Euforia & Spirale). Also sang the ending song Madoromi no Rinne for Utawarerumono.

I’m still a bit shocked…RIP Kawai Eri.

:( Just realized I had a few of her songs I quite liked on my playlist. Illness may be one of the more commonplace ways to go, but it’s still sad to see someone go through that.

How can she go like that? It’s so unfair and it’s absolutely saddening. I shall pray for her in heaven. ARIA will never be the same without her. And I agree it’s exactly similar to what I felt when I knew that Okazaki Ritsuko passed away.

Same here. The name looked familiar, so I opened iTunes and, sure enough, I was put in a state of shock. I’m still in shock right now. I guess she hid her illness from the public.

But still…I can’t believe it, I just can’t believe it. I don’t even want to know what her family is going through right now. Rest in peace, little songbird. TT^TT

Oh my goodness… This is depressing news… (;_;)

Really going to miss her songs and compositions. She was truly one of a kind. Sigh… I think I’ll pass on re-watching ARIA for a while. I don’t think I can enjoy the series as much at the moment, especially when Athena sings. (;_;)

That really, really sucks. All I’ve heard from her are her works as Athena, the Utawarerumono ED and the Tales of Symphonia OP, and she had a wonderful voice. This is very saddening.

I know that I’ll be repeating some of her songs for the rest of the day now, at least. :(

R.I.P. Kawai Eri. Being a fan of ARIA, I simply adored the OPs (which, amazingly enough, I didn’t get sick of no matter how many times I watched it). Athena’s singing voice was beautiful as well… it’s really saddening whenever I see anyone w/ talent pass away =(

Argh…came to office this morning and found out this new. I feel like crying now. Totally lost the mood to do anything now. Her songs like Strange Dawn OP gave me a lot of memories and now to know the fact that there won’t be anymore of Kawai Eri anymore just rips my heart apart. May she rests in peace.
