Spring Season Anime Appraisal

We’re just about at the halfway mark & I’ve had enough time to digest everything properly. Despite the spring season initially appearing to be rather promising I find that I’m likely to finish about as many anime as I did at the same point last year, and less than I did in the 2006 autumn season.

The rest of this post focuses on series that I’ve been watching for the last 5/6 weeks; and now’s the time to decide what to keep watching and what to drop. I usually make another assessment after 13 episodes, as the summer season will be closing and there’s some stuff I’m interested in (Moetan, Mushiuta, Zombie Loan and Sayonara Zetsubou-sensei). Oh and Denno Coil starts next week as well, so there’s a good chance I’ll eventually drop one of those 2-cour series (i.e. Lucky Star).

I don’t blog about anime much cos writing summaries is a chore - I’d certainly enjoy watching stuff a lot less if I had to spend ages capping/thinking of interesting things to say afterwards. Besides, I only watch for the entertainment value - 95% of the time, when I’m done with an episode, I bin it. The days of mass burning anime onto CD-Rs are over………

The Random Bits First:
Fave OP theme: Jikuu o koete by II Mix Delta (KissDum)
Fave ED theme: Anemone by Nakahara Mai (Kamichama Karin)
Fave in-show music: Seirei no Moribito, composed by Kawai Kenji
Fave male character: Hans (Emma 2)
Fave female character: Yoko (Gurren-Lagann)
Fave shemale character: Seiko-chan (LoveCom)
Fave masked character: Mask the Money (Hayate)
Fave animal: Boota (Gurren-Lagann)
Fave mecha: Eight (Hayate)
Fave meganekko: Emma
Fave maid: Emma>>>>Maria
Fave flat-chested loli: Ayane (Airantou)
Fave hikikomori princess: Nagi

Keepers (for now)
Nanoha StrikerS

I’m still halfway through As after marathoning the first season last week, but I’ve already started on StrikerS anyway. I can’t say I’m bowled over by any of the episodes so far though, but there’s plenty of time to fix that (hopefully). At least it’s inspired me to rewatch episodes of what is arguably my all-time fave (mahou shoujo) anime - Card Captor Sakura. Also, I don’t feel so guilty over my wish for a Nanoha-Fate pairing now that they’re legal ^^;
Chances of (me) Completing (watching) : ★★★☆☆
The good: Nanoha’s now got substantially bigger boobs than Vita.
The bad: Arf gets shafted.
The ugly: The return of ferret boy.

Emma 2

The one show this season I’d give up everything else to watch. Not a lot of people feel that way, needless to say. Guess they just don’t know how to appreciate real maids. I keep forgetting when Emma airs cos nobody torrents the raws so I have to scoot off to Winny to get them ^^;
Chances of Completing: ★★★★★
The good: Hunky Hans (and his sideburns).
The bad: Wussy William.
The ugly: The ‘blurry’ quality of the episodes that makes me wonder if my eyesight has deteriorated.

Hayate no Gotoku!

This season’s token comedy. I hope they can keep the pace and the gags flowing.
Chances of Completing: ★★★★☆
The good: Lots of ‘inside’ jokes and parodies.
The bad: Not a whole lot really.
The ugly: Robot Eight.

Seirei no Moribito

I’ve been waiting for something as grand and epic as 12 Kokki to come around and I think this might be it. I found it hard to associate Balsa with Menori from Mujin Wakusei Survive (same seiyuu) but I think the relatively unknown cast do a fantastic job.
Chances of Completing: ★★★★☆
The good: The art, the backgrounds and Torogai.
The bad: L’arc~en~ciel’s hideous opening theme.
The ugly: Touya’s teeth.

Gurren Lagann

Enough has been said about the whole anus fiasco, but that doesn’t stop Gurren Lagann from being one of the most enjoyable shows out there this season. Kamina’s one of the coolest characters around - who needs mopey ‘Why does this have to happen to me?’ protagonists anyway.
Chances of Completing: ★★★★☆
The good: Kamina.
The better: The mass spamming of Gainax’s blog.
The best: Yoko’s boobs. Or should that be Kamina’s abs ^^;
The ugly: Episode 4 was a little ropey y’know.

KissDum -ENGAGE planet-

I have to say I like this more than I thought I would, given the pre-production problems the show had. Episode 4 was a bit of a disaster though, and I’m not getting my hopes up for anything resembling a coherent storyline/resolution. But what the hell, I don’t care. Bring on the trainwreck.
Chances of Completing: ★★★☆☆
The good: II MIX! Oh how I’ve missed your cheese.
The bad: Aimless directing. Characters I don’t give a toss about.
The ugly: Roki Demon.

Bokurano

I somehow feel that I’d enjoy this a lot more if I hadn’t already read some of the manga. It’s also quite depressing at times, so I have to be in the right mood to watch it.
Chances of Completing: ★★★☆☆
The good: The chairs.
The bad: Kodaka is a horrible little twerp.
The funny: Kokopelli is a hilarious name - it reminds me of Koko Jelly, sweets I used to love when I was a kid. I tried them again a few years ago, and they were awful ^^;;;

Kamichama Karin

I have a pretty bad track record finishing Koge Donbo anime (Di Gi Charat, Sugar, Pita Ten); I always start out all excited and halfway through the cuteness kills me. I expect that to happen with Karin too.
Chances of Completing: ★★★☆☆
The good: Himeka.
The bad: I AM GOD!
The fugly: The opening song is appalling.

Darker Than Black -Kuro no Keiyakusha-

My second most anticipated anime of the season after Emma 2. Gives me a huge Witch Hunter Robin vibe, which is a good thing cos that’s one of my fave action-oriented anime.
Chances of Completing: ★★★★★
The good: Fluid animation. Cool characters. Nice action.
The bad: Can we get In more lines please? Also, Kanno’s dull soundtrack bores me.
The weird: Breaking your fingers seems like an extreme price to pay compared to lining up silly stones or singing.

Nagasarete Airantou

Harem anime isn’t my kind of thing, but at least I get a few cheap laughs out of it. I’ll keep watching for now, but probably won’t last too long. Ayane no o-mune wa petanko!!!!
Chances of Completing: ★★☆☆☆
The good: The seiyuu cast list.
The bad: Ikuto isn’t worth fighting over.
The ugly: Tonkatsu’s nowhere near as cool a pet as Boota is.

Love★Com

I really enjoyed this. Only vaguely knew it because of last year’s movie version with WaT’s Koike Teppei. The fast paced comedy that somewhat reminds me of Ouran or KareKano - I do have a soft spot for shoujo series, regardless of how it takes ages for the main couple to stop beating round the bush and just get to the point. Now if only HanaKimi would get animated….
Chances of Completing: ★★★☆☆
The good: They sang the Kamisama Kazoku ED in the karaoke scene in ep 2! Same studio, same character designer, some of the same producers and writers. Oh, and Takimoto Fujiko as Seiko-chan is brilliant - she’s almost unrecognisable.
The bad: Tegomass.Are.Boring.As.Hell.
The ugly: Umibouzu.

Romeo X Juliet

First few episodes were OK, but I don’t know if I’m going to stick with this all the way unless they fix the wafer-thin plot.
Chances of Completing: ★★☆☆☆
The good: Interesting adaptation (rape) of a well known story. Plus points for not putting in the ‘Romeo, why the hell are you Romeo?’ line.
The bad: Horrible choice of ending song. Too much cheese at times.
The ugly: Willy Shakespeare looks like a lecherous old man.

Lucky Star

I have no real complaints about the drama CD cast being replaced now. I’m still not completely sold on the show itself, it merely brings a chuckle out of me than being HAHAHA funny. The fact that it’s 24 episodes long makes me wonder if I can last the distance.
Chances of Completing: ★★☆☆☆
The good: Lucky Channel.
The bad: Motteke! Sailor Fuku. People actually like this song??? Go dig your ears.
The ugly: Ugly? It’s too cute and colourful to be ugly.

Come on in, your number’s up.
Polyphonica

Have been thinking of dropping it for 2-3 weeks now and I’ve had enough (finally).
The good: Kamiya Hiroshi’s return.
The bad: The names are a bitch to read/pronounce.
The ugly: Animation. Designs. etc. etc. Looks like something the cat dragged in.

Kaze no Stigma

It has an interesting enough premise but the action fails to hold my attention. In a boring season I might’ve stuck with this for a while, but with so much other good stuff going on and so little time, Kaze no Stigma gets the chop.
The good: Ono Daisuke.
The bad: Ren.
The ugly: Bright pink hair never fails to annoy me. I can just about stomach it when it’s a lighter shade (like Caro’s in StrikerS), but THAT bright….. sunglasses please.

Idolmaster XENOGLOSSIA

I thought the cast list looked really good….sigh. See Hocchan’s character nodding off in episode 1? That’s exactly how I felt when I was watching it.
The good: Penguins. And chickens.
The bad: Everything else.
The ugly: Haruka’s hair.

Kaibutsu Oujo

So Kawaragi Shiho gets paid just to say Huga? Nice job if you can get it.
The good: Huga? Huga. Huga!
The bad: If it’s meant to be a comedy, it’s not doing a good job of making me laugh.
The ugly: The monsters.

sola

I thought the prologue drama CD was promising, but I’m ditching this. I can hardly stop myself yawning when I’m watching it.
The good: Kaneda Tomoko actually manages to not be annoying for once.
The bad: It’s boring. Not enough Mai/Ai.
The ugly: I don’t like the character designs. That seems to be the most common complaint from me this season….

El Cazador

It’s another in a long line of excruciatingly dull girls-with-guns Bee Train productions. Noir, Avenger, Madlax, El Cazador….yawn.
The good: The opening song by savage genius is ace.
The bad: Blandness to the extreme.
The ugly: Character designs. The main characters look fine but all those random side characters look like the drawings of a 7-year old.

Heroic Age

I do like my fair share of sci-fi series (Seikai no Senki, Gasaraki etc) but Heroic Age isn’t really my cup of tea.
The good: The Kugyu and Yukarin combination.
The bad: Hirai Hisashi is involved.
The ugly: The results of Hirai Hisashi’s involvement.

Touka Gettan

It’s alright being mysterious and stuff, as long as you don’t bore the pants off me in the process.
The good: The music’s nice.
The bad: Nothing makes sense, and I don’t really want to waste my brain cells on trying to get it to make sense. I’d like to think I learnt some lessons from yawning through Yamibou.
The annoying: Replacing Yukana with Itou Miki. Guess she’d rather be Jomy’s mother (Terra e…) than Touka’s mother.

Shining Tears X Wind

I’m not quite sure why I persevered with this for so long - I think I was just waiting for something exciting to happen. That’s yet to materialise after 5 episodes so goodbye, boring game-to-anime conversion.
The good: Hoshi Soichiro didn’t annoy the hell out of me.
The bad: Everything else annoyed the hell out of me.
The ugly: Catgirls.

Claymore

I thought the first few episodes were decent enough; Claymores certainly aren’t your usual sort of female leads. However, I really don’t think I could put up with 6 months of Raki.
The good: Claymores are cool.
The bad: Raki. Everyone hates him.
The ugly: The dark and gloomy palette. The Yoma aren’t too pretty either.

There was loads of stuff I gave up after 1 episodes (Bakugan BB, Sangokushi, Hitohira, Seto no Hanayome, Blue Dragon, Gigantic Formula, Jeeg, Terra e…) and have done the best to put out of my brain, forever (and ever amen). I wonder if I’ll have the time to watch as much anime as I do after I graduate (in 3 months time) and find a job? Methinks not…. guess I better enjoy it while it lasts.

Oh, and I suck at finishing off series; it took me about 2 and a half years to eventually see all of Hunter X Hunter (including the OVAs), plus I only watched the last 4-5 episodes of Genshiken a few months ago and am still slowly making my way through Rozen Maiden Traumend, Kaleido Star, Mahou Tsukai Tai! and Chance! Pop Sessions. Oh, there’s just not enough hours in a day….

Wow! The amount of material and information that keeps popping up on this blog is just mind boggling!

Anyhow, I can’t believe u gave RomeoxJuliet 2 stars!! That show is so awsome it doesn’t even NEED a plot :P (and I’m sure the “Romeo, Romeo why are u Romeo” line will come in somewhere). Same with lucky star…that show is just brilliant, mostly due to Hirano Aya. Well at least u aren’t dropping them.

And u should give Seto no Hanayome another shot, especially since the first episode wasn’t THAT great in terms of humour. Later on it becomes insanely funny (mostly slapstick, exaggerated art funny), so if thats ur thing then definitely try episode 2 ^^.

Other than that I mostly agree with everything. I was wondering about Emma and I had no idea raws were only available on winny >_< I cant believe a show that good isn't even being distributed...

Now I will have to try to get Winny to work…but I cant read japanese =/ Thanks to ur blog, at least now I know ^^

I can’t believe you watch that many series… but then again, I have some you don’t. Um.

The ‘blurry’ quality of the episodes that makes me wonder if my eyesight has deteriorated.
[...] Replacing Yukana with Itou Miki. Guess she’d rather be Jomy’s mother (Terra e…) than Touka’s mother.

Hilarious comments as usual. But IMO, Itou Miki is doing a stellar job in Touka Gettan. Her voice amazes (and amuses) me every week. It’s very funny.

Terra e turned out to be a moving science fiction show that ponders the nature of discrimination. ;) It’s not that bad. The art is somewhat classic-looking.

To jigga: I believe Emma is being subbed by the people who did S1.

Heh… looks like ya got quite a bit of time (considering exams etc etc >_<. Tsk University students) Anyway, I have only been following Lucky Star, Hayate and Have I Got News For You VODcast, haha. And playing PES6 on PC. Did watch RomeoxJuliet, Claymore and StrikerS for 1 eps, and errr, thats it. Watched Hidamari Sketch though, wait that’s last season…

    >>jigga

My main problem with both RxJ & Lucky Star is their length - if both were 12/13 episodes I’d have no problem finishing them. Unfortunately all 13 shows I’m keeping are likely to be 26 episodes @_@ Ideally I’d like to trim my watchlist down to 8, and if I was pushed; those 2 shows + Airantou would be the first to go.

    >>nae

I think my problem with Terra e is that Jomy is rather annoying ^^; To me, Itou Miki only ever sounds like Itou Miki so I can’t say whether I like/hate her performance. It’s just….there. I guess my lack of love for the show doesn’t help matters….

    >>dasgood

Don’t grumble!! You were exactly the same when u were in skool no? Which was just a mere…. 2 years ago? Haven’t played many games lately, though I now have an extra laptop so may try and get some stuff installed…. ever heard of Fairy Godmother Tycoon lol.. maybe Sam & Max. I’m hoping to buy a DS, or a Wii maybe. Will only happen if God rains money on me though….

Kissdum really screwed up my expectation.^^; First two weren’t too bad but the third episode feels more like drama cd than anime with very few animation and somewhat lag feeling. They really have to pull themselve together or it’d a real shame to see a series with decent cast and staff turned crap.(when is the op single out? I can’t wait.^^)

I love Emma too but too lazy to use Winny myself as had really bad experiences with it. I only use it when I got a 2nd pc/notebook around so if some crap happen I wouldn’t be super pissed.^^ Since I’m too lazy to take out my desktop after moving so haven’t used it for an year or so now. Damn someone bt it already…I really want to watch more.>_<

I personally don’t think Gurren Lagann is that great. It’s entertaining and all but lacks something I thought or maybe the feeling all the mecha are so much like one of my childhood memory, Granzort did that.^^; Also I do not like Shimon at all.^^;(isn’t he like Raki?…hehe)

Imas Xeno is really so so. I only watched it is probably I thought few of the characters is pretty interesting. ie. Ami-chan’s Yayoi.^^ They should just call it something else as it has nothing related to Imas or Xeno other than the character names are the same as Imas but with totally different cast. Plus there’s the story and all. Sorta feel like that crappy series I hated too…Stratos 4 since both are about taking down meteors right?^^; At least this one has mecha but not too cool looking…

    I still like Heroic Age myself and if I have to really pick one thing I hate…you probably gonna hate me for this…hehe. I hated the OP by Angela!^^; What’s up with Xebec and her anyway? Feels like they always use her for op of their work. I’m totally not a fan of her music at all so always ff the video…^^;

Kaze no Stigma is actually turning more interesting now as it progress. I first thought it’s kinda bleh too since the animation is flat with nothing stands out. The story was also kinda typical but after watching it more looks like it might be getting better.

Shining Tears X Wind is indeed pretty bad. The whole shinken deal sounds kinda cool but having taking them out EVERYTIME is kinda lame. You’d totally get killed before you do that…^^; The story is pretty standard fantasy also. What a waste of decent cast. Can’t say I like the songs at all. I suppose might work more for female fans.^^

Roemo X Juliet…well if you don’t really think that much about the original, it’s not that bad. Probably will keep watching and maybe seein a different ending since they already altered so much.^^

Really enjoy Lucky Star myself since it’s quite otaku-ish. There might be quite a bit people compare it with Haruhi but probably isn’t a right thing to do as they’re really different.(might be a surprise…I only watched like around half way of it still….^^; Have to say I like Lucky Star more if have to compare them.) Alot of gags to alot of anime/games/manga…etc. I also like the cast better than CD drama after watching the series. Hirano’s Konata really is wayyy better than Hirohashi plus the rest are pretty good too. If I have to keep someone from the CD drama cast…maybe Asano Masumi and Saitou Chiwa but their releacement is pretty good too I thought. I also really like Konno Hiromi’s Akira. Even more fun if check out the Lucky Channel radio with it.^^ The ending part with Hirano singing those old tokusatsu songs is hilarious too espeically the first one.^^

Hayate no Gotoku is pretty fun to watch too and also has alot of gag from various anime and stuff. There is one thing I don’t quite get so far though and maybe some people can help… I get the part when Nagi attack Saku since those are the roles Kugimiya did but I don’t get the part when Saku kicks Hayate though…are those also roles Ueda did or what? Also seems quite a bit of Märchen Awakens Romance cameo with Ginta and Dorothy in it…is it because Nakajima Saki is in it?

I thought Polyphonica is pretty enjoyable. Might get better later I thought.(well it’s excellent when compare to Kaibutsu Oujo though…^^; I kinda watch it only due to the girls…^^;)

Sola started out pretty interesting but now is getting a bit flat but I suppose it’d get better later on as the story progress. I thought the character design isn’t bad at all as the original is by Nanao Naru but I suppose you might be tired of it since her works popped up alot more lately.

Thought Over Drive is kinda boring and stupid but watched more anyway and found out Yuki is really loveable.^^ Still I kinda doubt it’d keep my attention long since you can only do so much using a sport like cycle road race.

So you haven’t watched Ookiku Furikabutte at all? This base ball theme manga/series is actually quite different and I thought female might really enjoy this as main character Mihashi is really different from your typical baseball anime pitcher. I don’t know how to describe it well but it’s really different and actually pretty enjoyable. Give it a shot if you get a chance.

Seirei no Moribito is pretty decent but I’m not that hooked though like Juuni Kokki you mentioned. I wonder if it’s the pace… Anyway, gonna keep watching though.

I totally stopped Hitohira after the first episode too as I hated..whatever the protagonist’s name is. Really hated Kimoto Orie’s voice even though she’s suppose to done alot of theater work and few other anime roles I have no idea at all.^^; The character design is nice and the cast is decent but her voice and the story seems really shoujo and boring so I totally dropping it. Same goes for Touka Gettan. Also stopped checking El Cazador.

Still haven’t really watched Nonoha(probably won’t but unlike before they’re grown up though and kinda a standalone series I suppose. Also can’t quite overlook the nice cast…>_<), Bokurano and Love Complex.(looks interesting plus I like Okamura Akemi.)

    D:

Oh forgot mention Ooedo Rocket. I said I’d stop but it’s pretty intersting so still watching it when I get chance. Can’t say I like it entirely since there are boring bits and really lame part I thought. Not to sure I’d finish watching it entirely though.

    Gigantic Formula is actually getting better I thought compare to when it first started so I’d keep watching it. I guess if I have to complain then it’s the mecha design of Susanoo. Can’t believe the suppose to be main mecha actually looks the most generic and flat of all.^^;

    >Ookiku Furikabutte
I have very little interest in sports anime unfortunately - that it’s baseball, a sport I don’t watch, play or even understand probably doesn’t help. I see that the first episode’s been subbed so I may give it a go.

    >Gurren Lagann
    I just think it’s lots of fun, it does remind me of stuff I watched when I was a kid - which is why I enjoy it so much. I think Kakihara Tetsuya’s voice is less annoying than Takagi Motoki’s incredibly irrritating whine, plus Simon’s got Boota ^^;

I’ve not gotten started on Oedo Rocket at all. Heard good things, but I’m too lazy to look for the raws and nobody’s subbing it.

I guess angela are an acquired taste, you either love em or hate em. A bit like MoMusu I suppose…

I’ll try to torrent Emma raws from now on if nobody else does. It’s a shame that it’s not appreciated more….

  8. 8
    D:

Ookiku Furikabutte is really different. The characters are interesting. I don’t really play or watch baseball either myself(or most of the sports as a matter of fact.^^;) but quite like it still. It’s not like typical baseball theme like the also currently on air baseball series, Major.(I watch it still but now I’m more into the girls than the series.^^; Too bad there’s too little Momoko.>_< )

Takagi Motoki’s voice is indeed quite annoying but it was so fitting in Damekko Doubutsu…hehe. I’d thought female like her better than guys…guess I was wrong…hehe.

By the way do you know there’s a sorta a second series of Kai -Ayakashi- coming out in July? I really like that one myself so really looking forward to it. Sorta a sequel because the series, Mononoke is more of an extension of the third story, bakeneko.

    http://eg.nttpub.co.jp/news/20070323_04.html

Oh yeah how come you didn’t mention Koyama Tsuyoshi’s little song got on Oricon single no.16?^^ It even beat Nobody knows+ on the first day sale…^^; It was short though…hehe. lasted only a week.

If you can torrent the new episodes of Emma would be great. Pretty sure there are quite a bit of fans out there appreciate this nice series. If not, still ok I’m just have to wait for the fansub instead.^^; Hardly watching those now especially after sticking with fansub on School Rumble Nigakki and they ended up not finishing it and I’m too late to get unsubbed now to finish watching.>_<

  9. 9
    j1m0ne:

Oh yeah I forgot about Tsuyoshi’s song going in at No.16 hahaha. Obviously only Utaware fans bought it ^^; Dropped to No.67 in the second week heh.

I never got past the 2nd episode of Ayakashi for some reason, eventho it seems the sort of show I’d like. I might have to hunt it down & give it another go….

Put up raw of Emma 2 on Tokyotosho a few hours ago… will put up eps 3 (the one I have is very low quality) and 4 later tonite.

  10. 10
    D:

Nice! Appreciate that.^^ About Ayakashi I guess it could be you didn’t like the character design by the well known Amano Yoshitaka who’s known for his work on early FF and Vampire Hunter D. The series was consisted of three stories and he only did the first one and rest were done by different artists also. Bakeneko was the more intense one as it shows alot of people’s dark side and stuff. Very looking forward to it.

Speaking of games, I rarely play pc games now as too much stuff to keep up and installation often takes alot of space.^^; So I play consoles mostly if I do play. Was checking out radio program at Onsen as usual and noticed there’s a promo for Konami’s figure series now with online game, Busou Shinki. After checking out the link and listen a bit of the radio since Asumi Kana(I quite like her.) and Kitamura Eri(I think you like her quite a bit.^^) hosting it as they did voices for pc online game. Decided to try it out as it’s totally free unless you want to buy stuff from the shop and can also enter the serials from Busou Shinki figures you bought to access them. Sure took quite a while for update since connection is kinda spotty but the game runs fine though. Basically you make your own Shinki and raise to battle. Pretty simple so not too much Japanese needed for those Japanese impaired.^^ You don’t need to spend alot of time on it either as they needed to be recharged after the gauge is empty unless you use the rapid charger you get to use ten times then from store. It’s pretty cute I thought and kinda hooked…blewed 3,000yen after a bit to get parts and stuff.^^; Saving 1000points for the future new Shinki avaiable. Also it has a studio for you to make pictures of your Shink posing them and all to shot as wallpaper or whatever. Heard from some actual Busou Shink collectors that it is wayyy better than posing real ones.^^ The game is pretty new just started service on 23rd. Thought I share it.

http://www33.atwiki.jp/2chbattlerondo/pages/1.html < -some useful tips on training and all.
Other than the free Ninja type(by Fukui Yukari) Made another one with Tenshi head named Yuno myself ’cause it’s voiced by Asumi Kana…^^; Thinking about reset her because she’s really bad but couldn’t do it because her begging me not to.>_<
By the way, looks like the whole line sold quite well in Japan and Konami is releasing some in NA.

WOW OMG!!! Thank you so much!!! I spent the whole of yesterday trying to fix winny and ports to no avail (kinda hard when u dont know japanese) and eventually I gave up and went to bed fustrated. Then when I wake up the first thing I see is someone posted emma 2/3/4!! It was like Christmas came early :D I was wondering who on earth would do such a thing then I saw it was from u and I was like: Wow. Best. Blogger. Ever.
Keep up the good work :D

^_^ Just doing my bit to spread the Emma love. I really hope they can cover all the manga material in 26 episodes and not leave us with another 2-year cliffhanger XD

  14. 14
    Jigga:

Wow after going on without Emma for so long, I had almost forgotten how good it was! I’m still kicking myself over the fact that I might have missed this show (or had to wait for subs months after the show finished airing >_<). Thank you so much again for being kind enough to host the raws!! Please dont stop at episode 4 if it’s not too much trouble ^^

    dasgood:

Just started on Seirei no Moribito. Looks very nice. Great production and Kenji Kawai music. Looks quality.
Gave up on Nagasarate and picked up Seto no Hanayome. Looks like I traded up. Although the mermaid yakuza underage wife gimmick was initially off-putting but it is kinda unique and different I suppose, something Nagasarate definitely isn’t. The comedic insanity is fair compensation as i got a fair amount of chuckles from Seto, something Nagasarate fails consistently at. It may have the star cast, but Seto’s got the characters.
Gurren Lagann’s been entertaining although the robot with big faces and drills is a tad much. GJ Gainax so far, with a bold story that keeps moving forward.
Dennou Coil - very interesting concept, but only caught episode 1. So far it has hooked me, and I will be in for more viewing.
