I have exams starting next week (Woohoo!) so I can’t be bothered to write up anything long – I will attempt to describe everything in no more than one sentence. Oh well, at least I won’t have any more bleeding exams after I graduate in July. Samples at the end, and once again I’ve re-encoded them to crap quality so they won’t take so long to load.

Great stuff, much better than the disappointing Split.

Shiawase no chikara. Sowelu (out 24th January)
I normally like her ballads, but this isn’t as good as to YOU.

Baby Don’t Cry. Amuro Namie (out 24th January)
So-so, doesn’t really stick in the mind but at least it’s better than WANT ME, WANT ME.

Shiroi Machi. theSoul (out 10th January)
Nice cheesy pop single, they remind me a lot of Sasuke and Kobukuro.

Snowdome. Kimura Kaela
I love both Snowdome and Ground Control – a surprise for me cos I don’t usually like Kaela.

Elegy. Hirai Ken
Song starts off well but the chorus isn’t very strong.

FANTASY. Chara
You either love or hate her (voice), I’m in the former category. Great song too.

Hanamuke. w-inds
I quite like some of their songs, i.e. Shiki & Yakusoku no Kakera and I daresay I’d like Hanamuke more if the dancing in the PV wasn’t so gay.

Kono yo no kagiri. Shiina Ringo, Saito Neko, Shiina Junpei
Lots of fun.

Kitto eien ni. Crystal Kay
Zzzzzzzzzzzzz.

100man kai no Kiss. Glay
Normally, Glay make me regurgitate my lunch but I can just about stomach this.

Rolling star. YUI
I’m probably the only person on planet Earth who hates Rolling star, but the c/w song Winter Hot Music is lovely.

Hakanaku Tsuyoku. Younha
Will she ever recapture the past glories of songs like Houkiboushi? Based on this, methinks not.

Lovers Again. EXILE
EXILE without SHUN is like a hot dog without mustard, Manchester United without Christiano Ronaldo, etc – awful.

I can only recommend this to Kimeru fans, otherwise stay far, far away.

Excellent stuff, though I could’ve done without the English version of A Little Pain.

Kinen Rider. Okuda Tamio
Hits collection. What can I say, the guy’s a legend.

I’ve not gotten hold of it (it’s all songs I’ve got anyway) but Takuro History by Yoshida Takuro is worth picking up if anyone’s looking for good ’70s-style folk music. He’s the bloke who did the Cromartie High OP and the Ningen Nante song within the show.

There’s still stuff that I’ve not seen around like albums from SOFFet and Salyu plus Younha’s single so I’ll leave that til next week. Back to the books now.
