Tomatsu Haruka Blabber #1

I feel I have been somewhat neglectful in my duties of promoting my favourite seiyuu (idols) so I’ll start picking up on their news one by one, starting with the youngest of the lot - Heisei-period born Tomatsu Haruka.

So let me start off with some more details on Haruka’s debut single release. The title song naissance is the Koko wa Greenwood dorama ending theme song, and will include two other songs titled Puzzle and REWIND, plus an instrumental version of naissance. The regular version is priced at ¥1300 and the DVD version which includes the PV is priced at ¥1800. Pre-order it at CDJapan or Amazon.co.jp (ignore the wrong CD titles - the song is NOT called Hoshi Hiroi), release date is 3rd September so just two weeks to go.

But that’s not where it ends, as Tomatsu has mentioned that she’ll be taking on a three-month, three-single campaign, following in the footsteps of people like Hirano Aya and Nonaka Ai. No further details beyond the statement that ‘the second single will be uptempo’, but one of the two should include the Kannagi opening theme.

You can watch a clip from the filming of the naissance PV on her newly opened official site (under the special section), which features Tomatsu fooling around with the maracas [Or you can right-click & download it here]. There’s also a special interview with her about the single on the Koko wa Greenwood drama site.

Full audio sample of the song above (the flash player still doesn’t seem to like Firefox 3, unfortunately). I’ve heard naissance plugged a little too often lately that I’m already bored of it but one of the c/w songs (Puzzle) has piqued my interest somewhat with its lounge jazz style reminiscent of some of my more obscure favourites like BE THE VOICE and instant cytron. The fact that Tomatsu’s career is being handled by Sony means she gets more access to more established Jpop songwriters (i.e. Tanaka Hayato and Noguchi Kei, who’ve worked with Yuna Ito and FUNKY MONKEY BABYS amongst others). And it also means Haruka’s musical style is very mainstream Jpop and would fit well in the charts… if anyone actually buys her records ^^

Then there’re all the anime roles coming up including the newly announced anime adaptation of shonen manga Asu no Yoichi by AIC, which at first glance appears to be the unholy lovechild of Love Hina and Bamboo Blade (harem + university woes + kendo). The four female cast members are: Sato Rina as the eldest sister Ibuki, Tomatsu as the second Ayame, Tamura Yukari as third sister Chihaya and Hanazawa Kana as the youngest Kagome. Again, Tomatsu and Hanazawa have been cast in the same anime voicing sisters for the third time (after Kyoran Kazoku Nikki and Kannagi), and once again, Tomatsu is the older sister despite Hanazawa being older by a year (19 vs 18).

Ah yes, Hanazawa. She has this strange fixation about Tomatsu, or rather, Tomatsu’s body. Over the last week, Kana’s made various comments about Haruka’s body on Kannagi Radio and her own radio show - that she wanted to go with Haruka to Summerland so that she could stare at her wearing a bikini or that “If I were you (Tomatsu) I’d walk around the streets in a bikini and show off my body”. But Haruka is er… y’know, kinda flat >_<

Random: When I joined MyAnimeList in December last year, there was just one other user who had favourited Tomacchan. Now the total has slowly moved up to 27, and I really hope the autumn shows she’s in (Kannagi, Kemeko DX, Yozakura Quartet) will raise her profile further. Obviously it’s still light years away from Hirano Aya’s near 3500 MAL fans…

If you’ll remember, my last post had a picture of Haruka’s top half. I actually wanted to fit the bottom half in too, but decided against it in the end. But I know some people prefer nice legs to a nice face, so here you go ;)

Next up will be Marina or uhmm…Minorin/Nana picture spam post!

xDD isnt kana the one with the weird hairdo in one of them radio shows? I remember the mention of an afro too xDD I reeeaally hope Naissance would be available for purchase in Singapore, there’s almost no advertisments about her album here.. zz.. Ahh, did anyone else realise how most of her album pictures dun look (almost at all) like her? ‘Plastic surgery?’, I hope that its the camera instead… x(( And lastly, thank you j1m0ne, for ur writeup abt haruka(and her lower half) xDD

I’ve got to vote for Inoue Marina as well. She just doesn’t get enough photographic promotion (or at least not much of the same detailed, complete kind that Chihara Minori and Mizuki Nana do), despite being extremely beautiful (almost model-esque… combine this with her sexy, deep voice, and it’s pure WIN).

Yeah, the part about Tomatsu wearing a bikini and “giving a demonstration” in public (no more BDK puns after this, I promise) was also quite hilarious. Hanazawa Kana unquestionably has an interesting taste in women (a D.F.C. fan, I take it? ^_^)…

Additionally, thank you, j1m0ne, for the picture of Haruka’s legs. I’d almost forgotten how awesome they were. Although definitely not enough to give the reigning champion Kobayashi Yu competition, they’re inarguably put together and built quite well.

ehhh…? I just watched 1~2 episodes of RH plus, whereby haruka starred as one of the few main characters, and I realised how different she looks in the show compared to these pictures of her.(these ones were nicer xDD) Why is this so? >< Its like she botoxed her cheeks or smth like that… I hope that isnt true though x(((

Nah, Tomacchan just ate too many sweets and got fat ;) Actually, if you compare images of her now and those from a year ago you can see she has put on a bit of weight.

And magazine pics? Most seiyuu have equally crap and good ones, depending on the angle, clothes, makeup etc etc. I think Haruka looks better when she’s moving anyway, just watch some of those informal interviews when she’s not wearing much makeup.
