Very LQ Preview of Mizuki Nana’s Trickster

There you go, less than half an hour after it was played for the first time on Smile Gang. No doubt Nico Nico will have a better version very soon - I recorded this off a shitty Peercast stream so don’t blame me! Ear cancer, arghh. I’ll replace this with a HQ version as soon as I can.

Anyway, a tiny picture of Trickster’s cover has been uploaded on Nana’s site and… they might as not have uploaded it at all, I can hardly see anything FFS. If Nana hadn’t talked about how the cover had a circus theme to it I wouldn’t have noticed. Why circus? Trickster –> clown –> circus. Yay. Trust Amazon to come up with the goods, eh? Hmmm. I don’t like Nana’s hair here >_< I think I prefer the simple but sleek look of STARCAMP EP.  Not feeling those fishnet stockings either. Nice balloon though.

Nana was also waffling about Son Goku or something when trying to reason why she’d written something called Trickster but I wasn’t listening properly, I just wanted to hear the song! Like DISCOTHEQUE, Trickster something really different from Nana - rockier and much more mainstream than anything she’s done recently. I like it myself, although the chorus may be a little meh for others. I think the PV should be airing within the next few days (I think Nana mentioned the words ‘underwater’ and ‘NOT wearing swimsuits’ when talking about it), and I’m sure Seiyuu3 will be bringing it to you when it does ;) Only Trinity Cross to go now - October 1 can’t come soon enough for me!

‘I think Nana mentioned the words ‘underwater’ and ‘NOT wearing swimsuits’ when talking about it’

    Wait…WHUTT?!?!?!

LMFAO. NONONO that came out completely wrong LOL. It was like this:

–> Misato asks Nana if they were wearing swimsuits in the PV since she was talking about water or something.
–> Nana says ‘NOT (wearing) swimsuits but just plain old suits’ or words to that effect

So Nana is definitely wearing clothes in the PV. See what I mean by me no good at this Engrish?

son of a… I guess I’ll be preordering this later tonight, and I usually try to avoid Nana-chan’s singles just for the simple fact her albums usually have the latest and greatest. Meh, I’m gonna need to fluff this order with some other CDs or DVDs to make it worth wild XD

I don’t know why but I have this habit of reading your blog whenever I am at my office and of course considering how awesome USM is..they block every single video streaming. Therefore I am left frustrated and curious. Meh, I will just wait for the CD to arrive at my home.
Though I hope the package will arrive before my birthday…that will be awesome =D

And btw, “NOT (wearing) swimsuits but just plain old suits” <— for some reason…it gave me even worse imaginations….My brain computed out this equation “plain old suits = suits during teenage years = school swimsuit = nana-chan in school swimsuit”
Okay, I really need to go wash my brain with some highly concentrated bleach.

The song is a bit too mainstream and bland for my taste, like a sequel to Massive Wonders or something like that. But overall I do like it (it’s not bring it on, which I hate with passion). Discotheque was more of a surprise to me, so this one lacked impact in some way or another.

Btw, I’d like to take this chance to ask two Nana-related questions:

    1. Is there any english site with translations of her songs?
    2. Has she ever performed “nostalgia” in any of her recent concerts ? I love that cute little song but I’m afraid she’ll never perform it xD

I like Bring it on actually, and I like Trickster too. But I guess that’s because my taste is more mainstream Jrock/Jpop than ‘otaku-ish’, if you like. I’m for anything with electric guitars, heh.

1.I can’t say I’m aware of any… I’ve never tried looking for one
2.Yes, Nana performed Nostalgia at both the RED & BLUE side (as an encore I think) of LIVE FIGHTER. So look out for it on a DVD in the near future!

Thank you very much, J1mone! You (and the guys at seiyuu3) always reply to comments so I knew it wouldn’t be a wasted effort to ask.

Btw, I could also say about myself that I’m more into j-rock that anisongs, but the most important thing is that the artist is good no matter the genre. And Nana excels in that category. But “bring it on”…I just hate the “wow wow” thing and the chorus doesn’t do it for me.

    J1mone,
Sometimes I post some of the great news you share on my blog and I just wanted to ask if you minded? (I always provide a link back to you as source)
And also, do you mind if I posted the Trickster and DISCOTHEQUE previews to the Mizuki Nana community on Livejournal? I’ll link back here of course.

    Thanks

Ah! thanks for the larger and more clearer pic of the cover. Does anyone else think that she looks fatter on the cover than other pics? O_o

Both songs sounded good enough for me to listen to them multiple times, even with their low sound quality. Now I am looking forward to Trinity Cross too!

I actually had that impression too on first look… I guess it’s the dress :O Also her face looks a bit weird, maybe cause of the makeup? Not digging the hairstyle either >_< I’m liking what I can hear of the song though =D

By the looks from the album cover, relief is the only correct word. x))ahahahhaaa
Oh btw, can anyone direct me on how to purchase Tomatsu Haruka’s Naissance online? Is it only available in japan? coz I cant find it on the English SonyMusic site T-T
