Weekend Update - Enka has never sounded so wonderful

Getting sidetracked by Tales of Hearts again, which is turning out to be a very solid action-RPG with a good battle system - it reminds me a lot of Dark Cloud 2. The highlight so far is learning that Kohak likes to put miso on her bananas (yum). At this moment I also feel like strangling Chiba Saeko because of her irritating tsunloli character Beryl’s high-pitched squeal.

Moving on…

・ I’ve always been partial to a bit of Hosokawa Takashi and Hikawa Kiyoshi, but Kaneda Tomoko has truly taken the enka genre and run away with it - her vibrato is especially impressive. Move over, Mizuki Nana!

・ I’m not gonna talk about how much I hated WA. I’m still pondering whether to buy the February issue of Seiyuu Animedia, hmmm… might make half a decent dartboard.

・Y’all should watch the Queen’s Blade DVD Vol.0 specials if you haven’t already. Features Noto Mamiko and Kawasumi Ayako playing dumb games like tissue tossing and coin balancing. Also contains plenty of lame horse-related puns from Ayako…

・ Wow, the Friends album does not suck. In fact, it’s actually quite good - the covers of Rebecca ’s Friends and JITTERIN’JINN’s Natsu Matsuri are especially enjoyable. But not as enjoyable as seeing all the zettai ryōiki on display… (MAKO, second left, is a bit spindly though)

・ Heh, Linebarrels and GaRei-Zero- both defied the negativity/2channel idiots to post respectable totals of 6,045 and 5,512 in DVD sales over two weeks of release. The mini-OST (composed by Agematsu Noriyasu) that came with GaRei DVD1 was awesome!

Highlight of the week: Nana army vs Ali Project retard. Are there thousands of AliPro fans in your internet tower too?

YAY INOUE MARINA VALKYRIA CHRONICLES ANIME CONFIRMED ROLE ALICIA JOY!! Um yeah. Now here’s to hoping that the anime won’t suck like Disgaea did…

・ Also, cast of Polyphonica retained for Crimson S - which means more Kamiya Hiroshi, Tomatsu Haruka, Kawasumi Ayako, Mizuki Nana, Konishi Katsuyuki and Sato Rina. Hopefully this remake will be… less boring than the first one.

Oh yes, I enjoyed the Friends album too, and I was impressed with the Natsu Matsuri cover.

And Kaneda Tomoko never ceases to amaze (and amuse) me. XD

Wow, Kaneda’s singing is amazing! It’s even better than Inoue Marina’s XDD!

    ..how did Linebarrels managed to outsell GaRei? O_o;

Animedia’s cover choice is expected. All other magz will at least try to interview them. And the 2ch haters will even be more anal.. hey, the top two names they hate are everywhere, lol.

I’ll buy it when KaneTomo releases a CD.

Wow, KaneTomo singing Tsugarukaikyo-Fuyugeshiki. I thought I’d never live to hear this.

…. I can’t believe I’m still alive after hearing it.

WHITE ALBUM really seems to be a love it or hate it anime. I’ve never seen reactions so divided over the first episode…

And how many points will Aya’s deko be worth?

..how did Linebarrels managed to outsell GaRei?

Maybe some insider squealed the Linebarrels DVDs would contain extra secret special footage of Noto MamiMami doing nurse, maid, and miko cosplays? ;)

Anyway, I was surprised with the Friends album as well. I went ahead and tested it with half-hearted interest and found out after a few minutes into it, I didn’t have to click the stop button on any of the songs. And wow, KaneTomo-sensei can be impressive. :)

Enka rules! Recently I’ve been checking out classic enka material and I must say I’ve really been getting into it. It’s hard to find, but I found a nice site that has a bunch of enka releases

It’s still the first episode for White Album, so it’s too early to judge. Personally I think you’re a bit prejudiced over the whole thing… Correct me if I’m wrong. Though I guess I would be eating my words if the anime turns out sucky. I myself don’t have much hope for the series, but I do like the character designs and of course, the seiyuus involved, so I’ll stick around until it gets bad.

So the publication featuring Aya and Nana is called Seiyuu Animedia? I hope Kino has it. They look really pretty in there. *__________* Please don’t use it as a dartboard.

    I can’t believe I survived either.

Deko is worth 50 points, of course.

Yes, I’m prejudiced. I hate romance anime *shrug* Sometimes you just know if a genre/series is right for you or not, and WA is definitely NOT my cup of tea - but I guess I at least gave it a one-episode chance. I’d rather watch Akikan :3
